They're both inspiring grapplers mains, but Zangief being this big character in the lowest tier in his game, due to having so many bad moves? Snake Eyez is more comparable to Rangchu, with his Panda beating all those top tier Devil Jins. Majin is inspiring because he came seemingly out of nowhere and won with pure confidence. Of course, he knew what he was doing, but it's not like he had a training arc, he wasn't this underground up and comer. He was just a normal guy who really enjoyed the game, and that was enough.

I play a little Gief here and there, I've never really thought he was weak. He's got really good pokes, he can cancel strings into running bear grab, an armored heavy punch with some reach, plus frame jabs, really good reach with light spd, absolutely insane damage, and his combos are exceptionally easy. I feel like the extra layer of mental stack Gief has really adds up to a lot for a skilled player. But regardless, this match up is still ass cheeks.

Why Buff Gief if he has won a major? People like to say it's only snake eyez or only snake eyez could do it but Plenty of characters haven't won a major yet. If you buff gief, inevitably, someone else will be considered bottom and people will be crying for buffs too.
