I like how each personality deals with the news differently. The first woman was sardonic, sarcastic, and generally very dry. The two men related it to the mission as a whole, and the only reason for curing it was for a greater chance of success. The Japanese (Chinese? Vietnamese, perhaps?) woman, who seems to have a “wise, sage” streak, said an old proverb, then did nothing else. However, The next to last person, a man, though not overly sympathetic or loving, showed real concern with his voice. He obviously cared very much for Snake, more than the others did. The first thing he asked was “what’s wrong, Snake?” which is a 180 degree shift from, “You need to be in top physical condition.” Honestly, I feel like his kindness will be used later, but it is quite nice to have someone like that in a stern group of soldiers and technicians. This is the best thing about having well made characters. They stick out in your mind for certain scenes, and they are best for certain situations, such as comforting or battle. And that is something that games like this have done quite well. This concludes my TedTalk.
