The Everglades a national park located in Florida is experiencing a python plague. This Burmese python like many others was captured by snake hunters, because they're harmful to the species living in the wetlands.

These guys get paid about $500 for a beast that size. Plus a minimum wage while hunting. And can win prize money during the annual python challenge hunt. I saw a retired cop won last year after bagging 41 snakes. That's a $10,000 payout. You can probably make a career out of hunting them things.

That's a pretty big Burmese, I'm guessing around 15', but they have the potential to grow up to 18-20' in length. It actually looks a little thin for the length, but wild Burmese tend to be thinner than captive animals. I had a ~13' Burmese that weighed about 100lbs and it was as wide or wider than this longer specimen. The record weight for a Burmese python was a long term captive animal that at the time of her death (when she was "20-something" years old), was 18'10" in length and she weighed 403lbs (way above the average weight for that length). Captive animals tend to be much bulkier because they have an unlimited amount of food available and they're less active.

Rule #1 NEVER LET THE SNAKE WRAP YOU UP. If the snake get to wrap you up you are in the hot spot and in the advantage of the snake. I was wondering how long the others were going to wait to help him out, they took too long. Guys this is team work, you got to act quickly because someone is going to be hurt or killed.

These Dudes catch a invasive species and the dumb folks sit on their butts throwing negative comments at you. Don't understand it. Guess it's easier to sit on your ass than getting out there and wrestling a snake with only two guys. Them slamming the Gal taking the video. Guess there are a bunch of perfect idiots out there. Thanks again for video and capturing the rascal.
