Story time! When I was about 6 or 7 years old my neighbor had my mom and I watch her dog while she was away. I played with the dog in the backyard and saw this BEAUTIFUL patterned bracelet and wondered why my neighbor dropped it. I picked it up to give to my mom... and it was a snake. I will never forget the bracelet that hissed at me.

Story time.. When I was ~10 years old I climbed up on the mountain near my house with a couple of friends... I still don’t understand the thought process of one of them.. we were in the woods and they saw a snake and they were just like “let’s gently poke with stick”... they thought it was a rubber snake.. needless to say it was a real snake.. it hissed at her and we all screamed and slid down the mountain side to escape the “dangerous” snake.. it was a rat snake. TLDR: 4 children climb mountain and venture into the woods.. find snake and poke it with a stick.. snake hisses and children run down mountain for their lives.. snake is nonvenomous rat snake.

I found a hognosed snake in my forest and they aren't native to my area so I picked it up and I found something on him that indicated that he was a owned by someone. So I went back to my car with him and grabbed a shoe box and put him in it and it took me a week to find his owner. His owner was so glad to have found him. He had escaped from his owners home 3 days ago.

Aww, I love ticks! I have a place in the sierra foothills, and we always have to double check after we go for hikes. There was one time that we found one in the middle of my back, but when we tried to take it out, the head didn’t come out, and then we forgot about it for a year? Or more? So I actually had to go to a dermatologist to get the head out of my back. Now I have a bug shaped scar on my back!!

We found a super long garter snake in our flower bed a few days ago! When I tell people they’re like “omg I would burn the flower bed down” or “what did you do?!” Uh.. I tried to catch it 🤣 I wanted my girls to see it up close! It slithered under the house unfortunately and we haven’t seen him again! Thank you to Emily and Ed for educating me and my kiddos about snakes! When I’m confident it’s not a venomous snake we take a closer peak 🙂

Hand Sanitizer is actually not that good against the virus, unless it's alcohol based (at least 60%) and you use it for at least 20 seconds. The virus disintegrates when you do that because the alcohol works similar to the tensides in the soap. (just for those who didn't know. I'm pretty sure everyone does by now but yeah. :))

I was Walking in my parents’ (huge) yard and was literally one step away from stepping on a prairie rattle snake that was sun bathing. I was looking up at my son on my dad’s shoulders and looked down with my foot hovering over a rattle snake. It might’ve been sleeping. It was in a perfect coil and wasn’t rattling so I don’t think it saw me.
