Needs to be taught in schools. Wrestling replaces gym class, and catch becomes the elective sport.

I love wrestling with my cousin, he trains in BJJ and I’ve trained catch wrestling for most of my life, no matter how many sparring matches we have he is never prepared for a head scissor lock when my legs are near his head, the turtle guard is also always a fun thing to use just to frustrate him, and we never grapple with bjj uniforms just regular clothes, it’s so fun

I've been spicing up my top game with that cobra choke to double wristlock to scissor choke series that you showed and have been catching a lot of people! Jiujitsu players have a ton to learn from Catch and I think no matter what style you practice you should try to learn as much as you can from the others.

Thank you for sharing these videos. Your instruction is top notch. In BJJ a lot of details about submissions are ignored and not understood. Taking the slack out and minimizing the extension of subs should be common practice, but it's not. I've seen an absurd amount of BJJ black belts that can't do a proper triangle. Leaving space, unnecesarry unlocking, not getting an angle. I miss submission wrestling.

Why is there no half guard in Catch?
@pikkon8994 жыл бұрын
Because you can get pinned. The back is flat on the mat as are the shoulders which is a text book pin in all forms of Wrestling. The body scissors is different becasue he has 1 shoulder off the mat while defending the pin as well as attacking with the body scissors. It's still Wrestling and in Wrestling, one of the ways to win is to pin your opponent.
