Jose Luis Luna your shorter stature will enable an easier to establish underhook. You may have to lock around the waist (where the BJJ/Judo belt would be) in case you can’t get your elbow higher than your opponent’s shoulder to compromise their stance. Best regards - J. Bane

Harold John Dalipe No, it’s a completely separate art in itself. However you will find tons of it in modern BJJ. Greco influences it greatly but Freestyle and Folkstyle actually come from it. 👍🏻 - J. Bane

So a variation of Koshi guruma in Judo terms. Do you have regular hip tosses like O-goshi or Uko-goshi?

Uchi Mata to O-Goshi. Kata Garuma would be a Fireman Carry. 👍🏻

@@SnakePitUSA I meant Koshi guruma not Kata guruma. Both hips are outside so it is not an O goshi. Does old Catch curriculum have throws like Uchi mata or does it now through cross training with Judo? Do you have different hip throws like in Judo or just one name for many variations? Love cacc. Old judo fighter here. Cant get it this one. Looks like too many steps for real fighting. Ogoshi super smooth during fighting, you can hit it against supe agrresive fighters easier. Wonder about this though.

chris Try more No-Gi.. Coming up on 23 years of grappling all styles... I’m a 3rd Degree BJJ Black Belt, a Judo Black Belt (under John Saylor) but I was also the HW on the US Air Force Wrestling Team for years under an 2x Olympic Coach and the other coach is the only one to lead the US Greco team to a win in the World Championship.
