I built that Chevy Dually Snap Kit long ago and my the wife took it to work to put on her desk. Someone she worked with own a GMC dually in white and asked about it. I told her to give it to him. Now, I want another one for myself!

I been building models since I was a kid in the early 70,s and love it. I have about 200 right now. That,s built. I have given away a bunch over the years to, in the 70,s I would use toothpicks and sewing needles to paint the knobs on the dashes cause they are so small. Unfortunately I can't see as well as I used to so I can't build like I used to, when the ben Franklin department store closed in our town I was lucky to get over 3,000 models from the owner who had 6 stores total and I still have most of them in original boxes and sealed still , I got them in 1980 , my garage has one bay full top to bottom side to side. Plus I bought many others in the 80,s and still haven't built, my wife said that there is over 3500 in our garage and almost 5.000 more in the basement, I also got all model building kits they had, oh yea I also have a old u haul box off a truck full of model planes I got when the HECK,S department stores closed in ky in the early 80,s, theres about 3400 in it, roughly, I really need to sell them and let people enjoy em

Wonderful show. In my opinion, snap kits have their place in our hobby. They are great to get folks introduced into our hobby and to be slump busters for experienced modelers. Also, there are several snap kits that you can’t get in glue versions; for example, the Chevrolet 3500, so if you want to build one, you have to get the snap kit, and that is sort of ok. I have no criticisms of snap kits whatsoever. Your discussion of the various snap kits was very interesting and you provided lots of useful information into this area of our hobby. Thanks for sharing.

Great show men, snap kits if done right look amazing. My first snap kit when I got back into the hobby was the AMT snap-max 56 Chevy Bel-Air kit. The biggest thing I noticed the detail has improved greatly from when I built them growing up, I have built that C3500 Chevy. I will definitely be looking at more snap-kits/curb side kits in the future Thanks for sharing.

Snappers are good for beginners and yes I use snappers to practice weathering and making body damage Two snappers I want to get are the amt 90 Pro street Firebird (cool subject matter) and a 50 Chevy pickup kit Some suggestions for future shows include emergency vehicle kits, racing kits, building box stock, or shows on specific kit manufacturers such as johan or palmer

Lots of interesting things in snap kits. I think they need to do more subjects in snaps.... It helps foster interest in the hobby. We all see how many youth and junior modelers are out there....need more of them. In the way back AMT had the first craftsman series of kits, and quickly followed up with craftsman Jr kits. Screw together simple design with all the same body/interior trim detail and etc the glue kits had. Molded in colors no paint...1 afternoon had them rolling it around and looking at the finished car. There's room for that even today, especially if they were to pick subjects that aren't out there in a typical kit form yet. They'll sell them to new and experienced alike.

Nothing wrong with snap kits, some of them are very detailed. I built the Polar Lights Ford GT which is very detailed, Polar lights Ecto1, Revell '70 Chevelle, Revell Ford Raptor, and Revell Chevy Bel Aire. Most of Tamiya's cars doesn't have engines, so get a snap kit and save a few dollars.

Hey, back in the heyday we would bag on the snaps, but really some are superior to glue in shape or sharp detail. For instance, bash the Revell 1/25 snap 1970 Chevelle body and interior onto an AMT Monte Carlo by shortening the front frame and shroud. Will even have A/C (Ha, y'all talk about it in this video!). That PL Ford GT y'all have on table is the first kit my son is building - his choice.
