I bought mine used off of ebay, for a steal. It was used in a marine environment, and was too rusted to move. But spraying down the nose with some penetrating oil then whacking it on some lug-nuts knocked it loose. I sprayed more oil in there every time i used it, then let it drain out. Eventually it cleared out all the rust, and it's now the best impact driver I've ever used. I give it a squirt of lube every few years now, and it never drains out with any rust in it.

I have my dad's H.K.Porter impact driver along with the screwdriver bits and adapter heads. He was a machinist at their Somerville Mass plant back in the 1960s and 1970s where they forged their tools. Those were well made tools their.

My dad's Snap-On was the first impact driver I ever got to use. Definitely one of the best!

Great review thanks, looking to buy an impact driver after running into a few rusted screws that don’t budge with electric impacts and end up stripping. Saw the snap on as one of the buy it once kind of options and your review has made that pretty clear

I Used one of these several times last week at work and I've already ordered one. Its the absolute smoothest and best I've ever used. I pair it with a 43oz stubby hammer and screws just loosen up, even with Loctite or Permatex #2 holding them captive in their holes...

I’ve had my PIT120 for about a year now but the pin on the side has recently started to fall out if I have to hit it hard a few times. Is there anything you could suggest I could do to keep it from falling out? Or do you think I should give it to a dealer to warranty it? I would appreciate any suggestions you may have 🙏🏻 Great videos, I watch your reviews all the time, keep them coming and thanks in advance for any suggestions 👍🏻

You could use a punch and try rolling over the edge of the hole to keep the pin in

I am looking at investing in one of these as a new technician. My dad has a craftsman one for our home shop that’s great. I am considering the snapon PIT120 or Lisle’s 29000, do you have a direct comparison between the two? Which would you prefer? I get snap on student pricing so the difference is $10-$15…

The Snap on one is really nice. I probably end up getting it. I sold mine just because there's so much more valuable than the Lisles

What holds that pin or dowel in place. Mine slides out when I use it.
@CatusMaximus5 жыл бұрын
They just used a chisel to notch the edge of the hole in a couple of places to hold the pin that's what you'll have to do

There's one on ebay now for $25, s&h included. Nobody has bid on it. Only 1 pic, though, lousy description. Wonder if it's beat to death.
@CatusMaximus6 жыл бұрын
Unless the picture is totally horrible it would be obvious if it was beaten the death the back end would just be all battered and mushroomed. Otherwise these are pretty heavy duty and yes there's a ton on eBay

I have been using ONLY these for decades(I have 2)(1 for work 1 at home) and have NEVER had to replace one, I had used lots of others but none were very good once I used my first one of these everything changed, once you compare the results on say Phillips head motorcycle engine screws you will know they are second to NONE
