Clay. Thank you. This video made me laugh from the heart. My father William Hall sr lost his battle with Alzheimer’s Friday and he 83 years old and a retired master mechanic and the one responsible for my tool obsession and like you they had to be clean and in its proper place. He taught me everything I know. He always loved when I played your vids and thought Hamilton was a stand up comic. Thank y’all for making him smile in the last weeks of his life. This year we're charging 4% on any credit card transaction to offset the cost, you pay less with cash or check, in my opinion it should always be that way.

I have a few of them pry bars, and every one the shank tools in the handle now. They're okay for a brief period, but not long term, but the new ones that snap on makes are great along with the lang, Lisle, Tekton and Mayhew pocket pry bars. Side note I'd love to see Hamilton in harbor freight it would be hilarious 😂
@michaelhorn45403 жыл бұрын
At one time snap on was the best with their flank drive which was used exclusively by the United States military. I always loved snap on wrenches because they were stronger and thinner than comparable mac or craftsman wrenches and would fit into tighter places, however today as snap on patents have expired you can find many wrenches from the United States and abroad that are similar or better quality for far less cost. I'll admit I was an ASE certified Master tech for 30 years and if I could buy one brand it would be snap on, although I do like the older MAC tools, but I guarantee you today that if I were wrenching I would buy quality tools elsewhere and keep those extra thousands of dollars in my pocket. I'll admit walking on a tool truck is like Christmas for a man, but paying those prices is foolish when you can drive down the road and buy quality tools for much less. I've thrown a lot of money away over the years, and I'll admit that when I first started in the early 80s that there was definitely a huge difference in the quality of the tools from a tool truck than what you could buy anywhere else, but back then I could buy $1000 worth of tools for $10 a week. Today that doesn't apply and you can buy quality tools anywhere for far far less and not have payments, but just before I left as a mechanic I could buy $500 worth of tools, which is about one ratchet today, and they would want $50 a week. I love snap on tools but today if I want them I'll just buy them straight out from ebay.

I know they come in red, green, yellow, blue, and I believe there is a rare orange one. It’s one of those things that will make your money back eventually. And it also gives guys who don’t have a lot of money on hand at the moment a chance to get something off the truck. And not have to leave basically empty-handed. Hell you might even have a few repeat customers after a few people use them. (And break them) lol

My uncle worked in Elizabethton Tennessee at the snap on plant for 30 years making pliers and stuff and for much of his career he made less than $15 an hour. I’ve been eyeing up the pocket prybar‘s for a little while now. They do come in green red and blue. However Hamilton is being honest about the price. And just for that I do believe that’s worth buying it off of him. Also a tip for you guys. Buy two nice leather pocket protectors. And keep one with some small test equipment, flashlight, and pens. the other Pocket protector should be filled with pocket tools. Just picture it. A pocket Phillips, a pocket flat head, and a pocket prybar. Sitting alongside your knipex pocket wrench pliers, and knipex pocket cobra. You would actually be able to accomplish a lot with tools on your person when it comes to small jobs and/or tight spaces. (Then you just throw the pocket protectors in the top of the roll cart at the end of the night.) Clay you gave me this idea when you showed me the mini wrench pliers. Lol. My ADD brain took it and ran with it.
