He did! The photo is from an accident in the UK, the police say he walked away with minor injuries. The car is RHD, which likely helped.

An MR2, my first car. A bit hairy turning at speed, with mid engine it’s hard to regain once it goes. The guy I sold mine to wrecked it that winter.

The driver is definitely still in the car. The camera man was the surviving passenger

Here for all the comments that don't understand what a mid engine does if you can't throttle balance all the way through a corner.

Sometimes you gotta learn the hard way in your own MR2 :)

Uhhh that’s not how it works.

lift off oversteer. if you're accelerating through a corner and you let off of the throttle, the weight is transferred to the front, which makes the rears lose grip. consequently, your car goes flying into your friendly neighborhood pole

In the MR2 that is exactly how it works
@GriiffixPVP3 ай бұрын
That is how it works tho. When you corner you want to keep enough throttle to keep the car level when you let off it wants to slow down then when corner it already wants to slow down but objects like to stay in motion which can life ur back end causing you to loose control. Keep ur car even and level. Allot of people let off and corner but you should slow down then quite often use a tiny bit of breaking and throttle to find that quick balance and then slowly let off the break to keep the balance.

Kind of a notorious issue for the mr2s as far as I know

- Please, Just a Moment of Silence for this poor (Toyota MR-2), "likely" the victim of a terrible driver/owner. - Hurts to see another amazing little sports car fated to scrap metal because most people have no desire to learn the driving characteristics of the car they drive because of this Delusional Arrogance. - Part of the problem why ALL 80-90 RWD japanese cars are 3-4x for what they were less than a decade ago. (I blame Drift Culture) that for some reasons became (Cool) in "The West" way later than I predicted. - I remember back in 2000-2015, Any 240SX, 2nd Gen Rx-7, Miata, etc) with 150k and overall great condition were the best cars you could get for the money and always around $2k. Now all I see for those cars are ads like, ($10K for my shitty Drift Car Project that has its left side caved in, no motor, and a bunch of random "Aftermarket Parts" in the pile of pieces the car is in) that is a rolling chassis) or my favorites ($15k for my basic RWD car thats been lowered with some cheap ass wheels). - Its a shame that RWDs prices shot to the moon because every teenager wanted to drift and their complete lack of incompetent driving skills were destroying these cars in record number, supply getting lower by the day, and demand getting higher. Im glad I nver sold'most of my RWDs I got in the "Good Days". - 91" 240sx Coupe and Hatch - 89' Turbo II FC, - 89' MKiii Supra, Black w/Tan Interior (1.5J Swap) - 88' BMW 318i (I Swapped an RB25 and put the M3 Widebody on it) And a handful of others. Most sit in storage because Im not wealthy, Just a lot of friends and love for Car Culture. - Im a 3D Designer for Trade and Have hopefully in summer 2025", My Body will be available for the popular Street Cars and Select Super Cars. Most Models are Finished, My Manufacturing Ideas to do this actually worked on my small budget (making it affordable for the average Joe), and blah blah. I just cant wait to scale this up and start getting my Visions out there on people rides.
