Yes, you did not have to take the engine out or crawl under the car with jack stands, major improvement. I would argue that it would have been better to add the whole process (maybe not tightening every bolt) but I am interested in how you do the timing of the timing chain. Did you use the pin tool at the bottom and the bracket on the top? Did you align the fuel sprocket to the mark on the left? These kinds of things would have been great to see and confirm my experience as well. Thanks for the videos and looking forward to the next.

@@Shades11353 many people prefer removing the engine, and leave the gearbox on the car
@blastingweevil2968 Жыл бұрын
i do not believe for a second that this car was doing 70MPH with the engine under considerable load when the chain snapped.. it is an interference engine anw with the RPM it would have been at the engine would have continued to rotate and be out of time and therfore smash the valves...
@W15Garage Жыл бұрын
All 16 valves made contact with the pistons, if you watched the video I’ve mentioned specifically that a different cylinder head was reinstalled!

People are saying terrible things about this engine
@W15Garage4 ай бұрын
@@Shades11353 this engines are brilliant if maintained properly. Great fuel economy, and power BUT, oil oil oil. Oil services in time. Long oil change intervals destroy this engines. Timing chain needs to be done before they snap, but otherwise good engines.
