It’s one of the first things I purchased when I purchased my Tesla. Unfortunately I can’t recommend it for those that live in colder climates. It’s made of 3D printed plastic and cracked froze the first winter. Went with quick bandit instead.

@@ooglek Really no change. It's still working fine..but...to be fair, this vehicle is garage-kept and only hand-washed. I don't think it would last long in automatic car washes or deep snow banks.

Funny guy-You block out your plate on the video, then get in your car and go show it to thousands of people driving around. But yes the SnapPlate works like a charm on my MSP Ultra Red. Nice video!

Erik, great video and timely too! We will be taking delivery of a 2022 all black Model Y with the larger black wheels. It will look like the Ninjamobile! One thing about the Snapplate on the front of your Model X. It seemed like there was some play to it even locked in place. Have you found that the Snapplate bounces around when driving and is that audible from inside the car? Is there also a way to make it a more solid fit and reduce or eliminate that play? I know you don’t want to use two sided tape on it. Maybe there is a shim you can stick on the bottom of it with two sided tape between it and the Snapplate? Thanks.

I haven't noticed any sound or vibration, but maybe some foam tape on the bracket where it clamps in will keep it in place even better. I'll look into it if it turns into an issue. Thanks for watching, and congrats on the Y!!!

I was strongly considering this for my 3. BUT I noticed an issue - My concern is the spacing between the bracket and bumper. If you have to parallel park you car (which by me is very often), I see an issue where someone parking in front of you carelessly backs up and taps your bumper as they are parking,the first thing they would hit is the holder, but it could put pressure on the holder and grille it’s clipped on to, resulting in one or both breaking from impact. Is that a valid concern for this license plate holder? 🤔

It’s supposed to break away before it damages the grill, but in theory, yes it could be a concern. I live in the city and need to park on the street often. It hasn’t happened yet, but I guess it could. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I simply went to a graphics shop and had them print a copy of my plate. Some will and some wont. I had seen it done at the Texas Mile. The material is even reflective like the original.

That’s a great idea. I do have a feeling that it depends on which state you live in that determines whether or not it is legal.

No problems, but the car is garage kept and hand washed. It fits a little loose, but doesn’t rattle or make noise. I think it’s loose on purpose so it doesn’t break the grill it’s attached to.

Mine is from EvAnnex, so I can vouch for the quality. I put a link to the Amazon plate to help people save some money. It says "real carbon fiber", but I'm not able to vouch for its quality.

Any experience taking this through a car wash? I am seeing some bad reviews about the plate breaking off

The main selling point for Snap Plate is that it removes within seconds. They recommend removing it before going through a car wash. I only hand wash my cars, so I don’t have to worry about that.
