It's back to the Maldives once again and this time down to the south of the Maldives and the Gaafu Dhaalu atoll and the NH Collection Maldives Havodda Resort
A stunningly beautiful island that is definitely more "budget friendly" than some others!

@@LillyDaFiirst thanks! Afraid I haven’t been to Reethi Faru yet. I have been to multiple different reefs and the coral life here is fabulous. There’s not quite the large shoals of fish you can see on other reefs but it’s really very good. Lots of sharks, eagle rays and turtles!

Thank you very much for that fantastic video (^_^). Could you please advise which type of villa is best to choose in order for beeing as close as possible to the coral reef?

The beach villas on the sunrise side are the closest to the reef. Obviously the water villas are closer still! It’s not a long swim out to the reef from anywhere really as they have steps at the end of the dive jetty and the water villa jetty

@@ZurriyetBlogs we landed into MLE on 21st January and it was 2 weeks of glorious hot sunshine! Flights were with British Airways so arrived at 9:15am and flew to the resort at 1:50pm. Return flight was back to MLE at 5:20am for our international flight at 11:15am. If you have a morning flight I might recommend a final night at a resort closer to the airport unless you’re ok with a very very early start

SO, the sunrise side of the beach is bad? Do they have any rainy day activities like covered area / bar with billiard, table tennis, etc.? Thank you

@@lindas2531 sunrise side was beautiful. Request one of the villas further up towards the restaurant and the far end of the island from reception and you’ll be fine There’s a table tennis table in the main bar area for rainy days and even if it rains, go snorkelling!

How would you rate the hotel overall re food, service, cleaning standard, common areas? Is there a problem with having 10l of water per day in the room, for instance. We are a family of 4 and don’t want to wait for room service for 30min when it is 30C and we are thirsty. Have you been to other hotels to compare? Many thanks

@@lindas2531 food was really very good, service out of this world (most islands are), cleaning is excellent and gets done twice per day and the common areas are spotless. The gym always had a supply of clean and fresh towels, the bar tables were cleaned and emptied as soon as someone left and the sand roads were topped up whilst we were there. If you’re ever short of water then just ask your room boy and they’ll give you more bottles in the room. They don’t want you keeling over with dehydration as much as you! This was my 8th or 9th Maldivian island so a few to compare it against

@@lindas2531 depends on so many things! what you’re looking for, age of your kids, snorkelling needs, entertainment etc.

​@@SnappyTravels Hi, my kids are 6 and 11, can swim, very sporty. We are looking for good snorkeling off the beach or pier w/o strong currents that can be life threatening; white sand and bright turquoise water; non-rusty mouldy rooms/bathrooms/facilities; healthy quality food (lots of veg, fruit, salads, fish and good meat - not synthetic, premaid, overcooked burgers & nuggets). Medium price range by Maldivian standard. Preferably some cool features like under the water restaurant, tree top restaurant or observation deck, natural woven/thatched decor bits; mature trees; ideally rainy day games room. I find it so hard and time consuming to be a 1st timer in Maldives that advice from travellers who have been to many hotels and can compare them is needed. Many thanks!
