What a lovely chap. Unpretentious, amazing compositions. Living proof that composition trumps any equipment. Glad you introduced us to him. That was refreshing.

Love seeing him using older gear. Everyone seems to overlook the fact that all these cameras from the last ten years are more than capable.

The awesome photographs of the past were taken with old cameras. That's one reason why I'm willing to pick up a camera from the '90s or '70s. They got great work from those devices, and it's always interesting.

Great video, this is basically the English equivalent of Paulie B's Walkie Talkie videos. Loved Matt's photos, very different to most other street photographers. Oh and I spotted my dad's Chinese restaurant (Charlie Chan) at 3:15 which was a nice bonus! Keep up the good work. Subbed.

That was outstanding! As a novice (seriously practicing photography for a bit more than a year now), I find myself being pulled in multiple directions a lot, between trying genres and feeling the need to learn tech stuff and the "go out and shoot" advice. It's nice to hear someone just keep doing what works for them, regardless of what the tech side is doing. It makes me feel better about my own approach thus far, shooting as much as I can with my lovely bridge camera. Cheers!

Loved the images and great photographer and seemingly a lovely human being. Thanks for showcasing him on here Roman - awesome! I know we have to choose our equipment, and I'm glad he's happy with Fuji. I stuck to them for a decade and didn't realised how much they held my photography and my photographic business back. I changed over two years ago to a FF system and the difference was night and day. My customers all commented how my low light and evening shots from gigs and events, didn't look like mud anymore. The colours flourished, my AFC and my enjoyment of photography went over the moon. I could now pull up low-light, high ISO images from the shadows, that didn't turn to custard anymore. For somebody who shoots fast moving gigs and events, often in the evening, this is a must. The only person I blame is me. I'm filthy with myself for bumming it with Fuji for so long and crippling a decade of photography. I'm glad somebody is enjoying their gear, because it certainly aint me!

Right tools for the job! Even a 5D from 2005 will outdo a smartphone for dynamic range in the dark unless they really fudge it. APSC or 4/3 is great when there's light, when it's dark you just need more area for more photons at the same F-stop. I went straight for full frame from film, glad I never spent the money on good crop lenses to have to get rid of later. Eos RP lately, love the exposure and white balance and all that in view, or viewing images in the viewfinder when in bright sun.

Ah, a man after my own heart. I live in London but love Cambridge and visit as often as I can. Also, just like Matt, I still own every camera I have ever bought and that is now around 70+ different ones. I did switch exclusively to Fuji in 2018 with the X-Pro2 after many years of using Nikon film and DSLR. Now, I have pretty much fallen in love with my Nikon Zf and that goes everywhere with me. Loved this video and have been a Roman Fox subscriber for ages.

All Matt shots is what I've always wanted to achieve straight out of camera. I've always known there's always a bit of editing to get it darker in the shadows but his shots are right up my alley. Roman if you ever venture to New York you need to interview Matt Weber he's been on walkie talkie but I feel you'll get a different type of interview out of him and just wow the shots he's got over the years anyway much love keep up the content. Ps thanks for showing another creative side I didn't know I had

I've been really enjoying these interview vids. seeing how other photographers think/see the world/work in crafting their images. which is doubly awesome, because generally in my experience, other photographers I've met have been shy, introverted and kinda super secretive about their craft. or at least compared to all the musicians I work with on the weekly, who are ridiculously chatty, can talk for HOURS about music (and how!) and we often chat in that vague "creative" way that bridges how I work as a photographer, and they work as a musician. but other photographers, always a bit of a mystery. I know a few. friends with a bunch. but we rarely ask about each others methods/processes/thinking behind an image. wouldn't dare hahaha or maybe I'm just too used to musicians being (excuse the pun) LOUD about their practices. so this has been illuminating, thank you!

Ancora ciaoo .
