For my travel photography, I always have this lens on. I might bring the smallest Sigma zoom lens in my bag just in case but this one always ends up being what stays on my camera

You haven't made any Sony videos since you switched to Sony. Do the Sony cameras not spark joy

Thanks for sharing your experiences. I‘ll definitely copy some of these settings for an upcoming trip to Singapore.

I am using Manual Mode with Auto ISO most of the time. If i set the Min. Shutter to 1/125 in the ISO Settings but proactively change the SS to 1/60 by dial, it should overrule the ISO setting?

Some good ideas here. Thanks.

I have the Fujifilm 18-55 f2.8-4 which my daughter is using on an X-E2 very effectively. I've had the Fujifilm 16-80 f4 which didn't inspire me, though the zoom range was excellent, not sure why though. The Sigma 18-50 f2.8 is the standard zoom that impresses me with its size, weight and photo quality. I'm looking to get the matching Sigma 10-18mm f2.8. For value and results, the original Fujifilm 18-55 f2.8-4 is top and it has OIS. The Sigma comes second, but bests the Fujifilm in light gathering capability and size.

Great video! I have been using xt2 with 18-135mm for travel and street photography. Now I am thinking about either upgrading to xt5 camera or the new 16-55mm mark ii. Which upgrade has more noticeable changes in image quality? The main benefit of xt5 is probably IBIS to me

I think people really don't understand that with auto ISO Fuji prioritises ISO over shutter speed. This means that if you hit both the minimum shutter speed and maximum iso and you are still underexposing, the camera will not increase the iso beyond the set limits to compensate, but it will instead decrease the shutter speed. And you can't change this behaviour. Avoid by just putting a higher maximum ISO, applying exposure compensation which just controls the ISO or taking control of the shutter speed with the dial and only use auto ISO as a back-up for more fast paced sitiations

Had no idea about that auto iso / min ss workaround. Thank you!

i only started taking photography a bit more seriously in the past 8 months and i’ve definitely overcooked a few of my first photos because i didn’t know what i was doing in lightroom. this definitely helped a lot.

Watched this afternoon, and now, before going to bed, I still feel the resonance that your straightforward yet balanced approach has stirred within me. My 30-plus years of photography experience have been notably enriched by your ideas. Thank you, Roman.

camera noob here 👋 *can you shoot video in 4:3 or 2:1 aspect ratios?* I like those ones 😊

Just crop it in post

@ but..I’d like to see the ratio as I shoot 🥺 particularly for video mode. 🎥 wish it had that option.

Roman, that's an outstanding and honest review. I'm a photographer (not a hobbyist). I've been wanting to do an upgrade. When you mentioned the autofocus and if one shoots movement.... I do shoot movement. Would you have a recommendation for a point and shoot that is still high quality but less expensive. Btw I''ve been shooting Canon Mklll and have yet to move up to the Canon R5 or R6 yet. I'm doing my research. If you have any recommendation based on my question I would be hugely appreciative. Drew

I'm starting to get real sick of Fujifilm, wondering if it's the right brand long-term for my channel/videos/short films/photography. Somehow however, a piece of me seems to still wants to pick up an x100 body one day haha. Thanks for making these settings guides so easy to understand.

Great video as usual. I use command dial for apature and shutter speed. Like the way you have yours set to Ap priority. Might start using that more
