CDC’s two decades of collaboration with the government of Cameroon and partners have strengthened the country’s public health infrastructure and capacity to respond to health threats, including HIV, TB, malaria, COVID-19, cholera, and measles. Specific achievements include increasing awareness about HIV status, reducing child deaths from malaria, training nearly 2,000 disease detectives, and strengthening relationships with clinical partners.
