Today in Crusader Kings 3 we attempt to create Themyscira a POWEFFUL woman only island form the DC comics, for this we must create a new faith and religion, while battling the Fate of Iberia Struggle mechanics and eventually rival the pope

I did a similar thing but started as Greek and created a hybrid culture with one of the Turkic nations as wanted to go full Wonder Woman and have Horse Archers for my Amazons.

@@SnapStrategy Off the top of my head, I think the best culture to start with would be Nubian. Not only is it one of the few cultures that starts with Equal martial customs, it also has a unique cultural tradition called Warrior Queens that allows you to pass female preference/female only inheritance right off the bat, as well as giving bonus prowess to characters with martial educations. The female Hausa ruler from the 867 start date is also a good pick. The Hausa culture also has Equal for their martial custom, and iirc there is a unique event where you get to specifically choose female-dominated inheritance early on.

Development gets reduced penalty, with the MAXIMUM before it becomes basically impossible is increased with innovations. So it wasn’t bugged, that number just increases until it hits the maximum at 35 dev

​ @Snap Strategy the island you were on is Catalonian. Their culture has Visigothic codes and maritime mercantilism. So with the codes you can get high partition as soon as you have level 2 crown authority, and equal rights as soon as you research innovation for level 3 crown authority. and thats with a male pref religion. - if your religion is fem dom, you can put fem pref or fem dom (though you might need to wait 10 years between each change). The maritime tradition will allow you to build higher levels of tradeports an era early, though i think the criteria for them to actually start getting unlocked is having battlements innovation

Quite the interesting playthrough. Wonder if going female-dominated increases the chances of stat-heavy women joining your court? Might end up being like how you're more likely to get crazy-strong martial types during Norse games. Might end up being an interesting meta...

I don't believe the game checks for that although Guest quality is influenced by a number of factors. The reason Norse playthroughs have lots of martial characters is because there are a great many events, decisions and such added in Northern Lords that grant bonuses to Prowess and Martial. Including specific events that spawn high Martial characters. The Daura female-only start does not, to my knowledge, have the same advantages (though she has some early unique events). You often end up using marriages to manipulate your court regardless.

I cracked up at your strategy for winning board games! I have a degree in computer science, but even I have just adopted a similar kind of semi-superstition-based heuristic (I tend to go Learning, Learning, Martial, Learning), and it always seems to win. I do have some reasoning behind it, in the sense that I am usually high on learning due to the fact you can get learning boosts pretty easily, and I do one round of martial to kind of protect against the case where the enemy is just too close or somehow beating me on the learning.

I wanted to do a female dominated empire of the Nile, but Warrior Queens does not allow you to land your daughters. Before you couldn't even have a female succession without appropriate religion, so they fixed half of it at least

7:44 I've played in Iberia a bunch and I see this a lot. It's an event with expelled Jews coming, asking to settle land. The option to make someone a mayor or a duke pops up, and your liege must have (for some reason) decided to let the Jews settle in one of his holdings, which instantly converted it and pushed him over to one of his other holdings. It's actually an interesting strategy since it also comes with the Sephardi culture in good standing with whatever culture you are, so you can make a hybrid religion this way, which is good because none of the Iberian religions can hybridize with each other, but you CAN with these expelled Jews. Though I will admit I've never seen an AI kick themselves out of their own capital just to settle some nomads.

The board game is quite simple. Play your strat, look at the response. If you are getting beat, switch strategy to the one neither of you chose. At worst you get another neutral which tells you they have a cycling strat, or you smash them because they stayed on the same strat. It is RPS at the easiest level.

According to Herodotus (terrible source), the Amazons were a village along a river that met the Black Sea. In DC lore, Themyscira is in the Aegean. So, they're Hellenic Greeks.

Have you considered riding out the Daura event in Africa to go straight to female preference? Then it's just Island hopping as a Tribalist until you hit a Castle Holding and giving away all your other holdings to advance the culture. ?? Might be marginally faster, and let you build easier.

Actually the existing development penalty is there because of the steward increasing development in county. With that option active, you get a bonus for development but a penalty too

I recommend next time starting with an equal inheritance religion there's a few that are Christian much easier. Or I guess you could go with an equal inheritance culture too. It makes it cheaper to actually create your own religion because you only have to go one level down. Not sure how the culture works because I use religion when I do this.

The feud system in CK3 is broken. I've killed off the main heirs of the other house, killed their house head, and dispossessed them of all their lands, but if I end the feud it says my house loses the feud. BROKEN. The screen itself is borked as well, it says "how ] retaliated against Toki's vendetta". Yep a file character ] is in the text. Then the text says 1) My house gains capable house for 25 years 2) My house loses feud 3) "score" 4) Your house for 25 years 5) Your feud will end. So, what is "score" as a word by itself supposed to mean, and what does "Your house for 25 years" supposed to mean. WHO does the screen text QA at paradox these days, it's deplorable.

Creating a new faith is different from reforming a faith. You need 3 holy sites to reform a faith. Such as Asatru or unreformed African faiths. Creating a new faith from a reformed faith requires no holy sites. So you can pump out endless Christian, Jewish, Muslim, etc faiths.
