Proof that SP isn't only about technical wizardly, challenging time signatures, and complex musical ideas. This is a beautiful, harmonic, and simple tune, that's all about groove, and feel. Oh yeah, and still has challenging voicings, wonderful collaborative playing, a masterful arrangement with challenging soli sections, and clever, heartfelt solos. Another intriguing original!

Just gigglin’ my ass off here - the way they mess with the time while grinning at each other just kills me. I’m thinking that even above the complex harmonies, above the brilliant solos, above the instrumental mastery and rhythmic virtuosity - Snarky Puppy will be best known and remembered as the group that made having-fun-making-music hip again.

YEEEEEESSSSS! This is the one I wanted to see. My absolute favorite track from Empire Central. I wasn't even sure it was recorded live because the mix is so damned clean and I heard no audience noise at all. They were probably all too stunned to do anything. I surely would have been. And thanks for answering a few questions I had regarding the percussion. I was wondering where that "long hi-hat" was coming from (it's some weird cymbal stack with rings all over it) and also wanted to know who did that absolutely sick-but-tasty ride-cymbal riff at 4:01 (Larnell...should have guessed).

I was there when this was played. Yays first song for the Pups. Went over very well during the recording; different vibe from the other songs which were a bit 'harder.' You can see the slow head weaves of the audience - we were grooving it. And you really have to give props to the sound guys; the live mix weas great and this is so clean.
