They are playing to track. Many takes to get what looks like a multi camera shoot. Heavy editing. Repeating imprvised solos for the camera is damn near impossible. You have no idea how movies are made, do you?

Received my Cd of 7 Summers in the mail today. Popped it in on the way to the studio. Oh my Daaayyyummmm. Man. it's funny how you can think you know about someone by just listening to their music. But I been saying that Shaun is my man, every since I saw him playing on Skate You, and Thing of Gold with S. Puppy and his facial reactions when Corey Henry was soloing on Lingus. Shaun, man if you see this. Your composition skills may be your greatest strength. I knew you could play, but didn't know you were a beast composing too. Everybody that can play is not necessarily a beast when it comes to composition. Don't ever stop reaching my brother. As awesome as your cd is, I don't think you've done your greatest work yet. Lovvvved the cd. listening to it right now. Your words in the introduction were a blessing too. Amazing how we artist can just be damn insecure about our abilities sometimes. Man, I ain't never met you. But based on how you look and move when you play or even when someone else is playing. You feel the music, like myself at an almost molecular level. You're a heart guy when it comes to music my friend. Trust yours. Your Moms told you right. A time for everything. Brother, It's your time!!!! Peace and Blessings to you.

I loved how the drummer played a whole solo but the band didn't fade away like most bands do for the "drum solo!", he was on the spotlight because the drums were filling everything but the band was supporting with delicacy. wonderfully played

I hope y'all sell a billion records but it must be a reward of inestimable value to live inside bodies capable of creating this much beauty. I hope y'all wake up and just stare at your hands, bodies and minds in awe! A good reason to live through today and not kill ourselves is also because our bodies are faint echoes of y'alls - there's also the wonder at what you'll create next!

Came here 6 years later only to find out I'm way behind...... Kudos to everyone but I could help but notice the drum.... He didn't just hit it with the sticks, he hit me with the vigour. No wonder the song started with his hot and seminal input. And so did all these other "crazy professionals". How in the world do they even get it.

Shaun's composition and soaring solos are just making my heart soar to the heavens!!! Just beautiful and inspiring. Love the trumpet solo at the beginning the Latin influence with contemporary interpolated over it sublime joy nice tone also. Shaun, Shaun, Shaun. we all love hearing your music, but we really want to also SEE you guys playing. Please hire a Video Director that's a musician and can appreciate that -- it's not about looking at your faces... hands baby!!! Yours, Sput's and everyone else. Just like how Michael League got better directors over the years (compare groundUp to We Like it Here) let's see how you guys MAKE this great music... we already know it SOUNDS GREAT!
@RichBarber9 жыл бұрын
+Ed Kurata Andy LaViolette directed this, and pretty much all the vids for Snarky, including both groundUp & We Like it here. Agree that they should have got more hand shots, but there may have been issues with camera angles/lighting or space that meant that wasn't possible on this record...
