No they're not. Those would be called unauthorized if they came from the same factory. The vast majority of the fakes out are straight up replicas which use some of the same material and build process but some different. The most expensive fakes you can buy are called "Authentic Replicas" which some claim are unauthorized shoes. Why they're even called authentic at all is because they use 100% of the same materials and supposedly build process. They lack the quality control though which results in minor differences that can be found by experts. These authentic replicas cost $150 or more while the cheaper replicas cost between $50-$120 depending on the tier of replica and shoe.

Me being the super picky person I am was able to tell the difference between the two. The blues are very similar but the authentic pair has a very subtle hint of black in them, the laces holes are a bit smaller, and of course the tongue being smaller. This was super informative. People like me super appreciates this. Make more 👍🏾

I recently ended up buying two pairs of Jordan 12 Game Royals on release day (one by accident) from one of the authorized outlets. When I opened both boxes and compared them.....there were minor variances between the two. Stitching was off here or there, sloppy glue in some spots. If I looked hard enough I could find more differences. Some real, some imagined:) I mean, really, these sneakers aren't fine crafted Italian shoes that last a lifetime. They really are just sneakers. The quality control and materials isn't really as high as a fine crafted shoe. I say that because people are scrutinizing these sneakers like they ARE fine crafted shoes. They aren't! They are mass produced in China like a lot of other sneakers.

Great video. The pair I just bought matches exactly with your authentic pair. Got it from a reputable source with recerpt, but still had to double check myself. I caught something, too. Alright, go to 6:16 and look at the bottom stitching. On the fake pair, the one on the right, it seems as if that one has the stitching placed higher than the other one. Also, look at how the stitching ends when it hits the blue part of the shoe with the Red 23. The fake ones, the one on the right, slant downwards and have a little bit of the stitching shown. While on the real pair, there's no stitching shown, and also the stitching is pointed horizontally instead of pointed downwards. So for your myth busting boys and girls at school this year, check the back of their shoe. If the stitching is showing and is slanting downwards on the back, boom, there's some Fake Air Jordan 12s for ya'.

I think if you do enough retail pair comparisons, you will see all that your comparisons will be inaccurate. I watched your entire video and looked at my retail pair direct from the SNKRS app and it matches your fake pair with the stitching, heel tab. The only that matches the Authentics is the box and paper.

My Jumpman tabs are different as far as height vs both your pairs in the video the inside tabs on my pair does not match in height for the left and right shoe, also the heel tab on mine has about a 1 1/2 stitch distance to when the sole meet. I really think you need to grab a bunch of authentic retail pairs in the same size and compare. My pairs are size 10 like yours. I always enjoy watching all these real vs fake comparison videos because I want to be well informed before ever making a trade, sale or purchase. After comparing my sneakers I am now in doubt that these videos are accurate and when you think about it logically, the sneakers are not 100% machine made and put together so no pair can truly be identical. Wish it was like the past where it was so easy to identify fakes but it seems it is now in question, at least for me it is. Maybe I've missed some good deals because I thought a person was selling me fakes when they were real. Nike needs to create something to protect the consumers as they charge such a high premium for the sneakers, they are the ones who help create the nightmare.

I do agree with you on some points that no Air Jordan model is exactly the same as they are made by machine. However, when you do have two of the same size shoes and the build is different, especially the tongue a lot longer, you have to question it. Now if it was one pair, maybe we were wrong, but it was a few. What I am noticing is you are comparing the left and right shoe, which yes, there could be imperfections. I am not sure if you have access to a fake/unauthorized pair, but if you do, compare and make sure to be the same size. I also agree about it being harder today to spot fakes. They have really gotten better at making them. I have been running SneakerFiles.com for 10 years and collection for maybe around 15? You do have some years on me though lol.

Yes the shoes are made in the same place (China) but Authentic Jordans are made with quality materials the replicas or unauthorized are made with cheap materials.

for me, if the looks is pretty perfect and the flaws are really minor, I won't mind rocking the fake joints. things that would put me off would be, bad stitchwork, messy cuts and shape, funny looking jumpman, crooked 23s, and plastic shank plate. the lack of real zoom cushion is forgivable even though they feel like cardboard as I do put custom insoles on them.

When you put real vs fake next to each other they look very much alike, there are some fakes that are excellent quality and very comfortable that you can get for about 60. Why pay 300? Both real and fakes are made in China. Your paying the extra money to support the NBA and pay millions to basketball players.. As far as. lasting longer not sure but even if they did most people buy them for kids that grow out of them in 2 to 3 months . Thanks for your answer but my advice buy a good fake and keep the extra money for You not the NBA

John Valis I have encountered many fakes in my time. I know and see the craftsmanship of them and stitching. They will not hold up. At the end of the day, the video was not intended to say "don't buy fakes" because everyone is entitled to do as they please. However, the video was made for those that want to purchase an authentic pair and not get scammed. No matter the price someone pays, if they are intending to buy something that is real or the seller is claiming they are real, then the buyer should get an authentic product. This video helps with that.

Those are the same. Every QC supervisor will tell you it is inside tolerated. They can only sort it to class1 and 2, thats all.

I have 2 retail pairs and one UA. I'm going to wear and beat the UA up and keep the authentic in the box. PS - the height on the plastic tabs is not a difference, as I got a 10.5 authentic from champs and plastic tabs on the two shoes is a different length. So quality control issue.

stitching on the uppers are off..again no pair is perfect but you will notice that the top stitch on the toe isn't lined correctly.

Not really sure to be honest. In hand it's a bit different. You can tell the quality isn't right, stitching etc. but to be honest, if you wore the fake pair, 9 out of 10 people wouldn't notice..

I bought a pair of fake Jay's before and the grip goes easily and the paint falls off quick. If some workers went thru all the trouble to make a fake jordan shoe that still stays intact as if a real jordan shoe.... then it's good by me
