For those who don't know, as Muslims, we don't actually untie the top knot of the head for the deceased. There is no such practice in Islam. Also, in Islam, we believe that once someone dies, that's it, no coming back from the dead to haunt the leaving, none of that, once you die the angel of death takes your soul and that's it. Your soul only enters the grave to be questioned by angels. As Muslims, we believe that all these ghosts and stories of people coming back from the dead are just jinns, and them taking the form of the dead is one of their fitnas (trials/afflictions).

Hey, I'm a Muslim and Indonesian. There are several reasons why pocong are said to roam around. Here are a few most popular reasons about it : 1. Murder Victims: Sometimes, the corpse of someone who died horribly in a murder case will wander around, searching for the perpetrator who killed them. 2. Cursed Souls: The remains of an evil person might be cursed to roam the earth as a pocong unless they apologize to the people they hurt during their life. 3. Before Indonesia's independence, our ancestors fought against colonialists from Portugal, the Netherlands, and Spain. To gain immunity from bullets, they used black magic, which required nail clippings from recently deceased individuals. This black magic was believed to be effective only if the corpse was less than three days old. As a result, many people would open graves quickly to avoid detection by villagers. Sometimes, these grave diggers would forget to restore the corpse to its original state or take the rope that bound it, believing this could strengthen the black magic immunity.

Hello, I am a Muslim too and I am Arab, whatever you said about how and why these pocongs roam around is wrong and goes against everything that is taught in islam, if you disagree give me a verse or a hadith where they say this. I have been told that jinns take the form of anything you are afraid of, this is why there are no pocongs in Africa or Saudi Arabia where we also bury the same way. Please do not spread false information, especially as a Muslim, even though you make this a normality in your country this is against the religion and just because the world does a certain thing it doesn´t mean it is permissable. Please do not switch up my religion. I seek forgiveness for any mistakes I have made in forming this message.

Sushii can you make a video about Mona Fendy, who was one of Malaysia's most infamous serial killers. The story is actually quite disturbing and graphic when you look into it, and the fact that she was executed in Malaysia's most haunted prison (which is now turned into a shopping centre which is also rumoured to be haunted) makes the story even more disturbing. Please make a video about it, it would be quite interesting if you do so!

I'm a Filipina and these aswangs are not a joke. They are real. I didn't see one but I heard one on a distance.. Especially these "wak wak". They appeared when someone is pregnant. When I was a kid, my neighbor is pregnant and suddenly a gush of wind blow at night and I heard a distance sound " Wak wak wak". Our neighbors were alerted of the sounds and everyone showed their guns out. They fired their guns that night. It sounded like fireworks.

About Pocong: If you think Pocong is slow moving ghost.. YOU'RE very wrong. Yes they move by jumping, can move their body side to side and front to back, usually likes to peek at random groups of people when the place is dark. Talk about the speed their movement. THEY CAN BE EXTREMLY FAST they may hoping but also can fly. Appearance: Most of the time you will see them with black like burnt face, that's not the scary part.. they can also show you their nastiest form like eye hanging from it socket, maggots comes out from their face, nasty scar and appear bloody and grotesque. there's a hint before they appear there be peculiar smell depends on their condition before death.

Filipino here, one known weapon against Aswangs told by elders is the "Buntot Pagi" or stingray tail. Elders from my province say that wounds inflicted on Aswangs or other creatures by Buntot Pagi weakens them and is difficult to heal. That's why Aswangs or other creatures are wary of Buntot Pagi. As a child growing up in the rural province, my grand father had a Buntot Pagi in the main house. My cousins and I were often forbidden from messing with it. There are 2 "attack mode" that Pochong has. 1. Pochong believed to have a spit with acidic properties, strong enough to melt skins & flesh. 2. Another kind of spit that said to improve the taste of food it spat on, by spitting "invisible maggots" (basically somekind of "buff" or "debuff" depending on how you look at it). Theres actually a 3rd one, but its rare and barely known. Which is a high pitch sound kind of attack capable of making the victim feel extremely nauseous.

For me, Pocong deserves an A just because of its appearance and lore LOL. Basically from what i've heard, Pocong usually appears to seek help. Most stories of the entity involves in the Pocong appearing out of nowhere and seeking help in untying the rope. Most people encourages you to do this because they believe that by untying the cloth of the Pocong will get you good fortune. This can also release the spirit of the Pocong and let it rest in peace. Overall Pocong is really scary but also a little sad.. :P
@meen8735

There is also different tupes of pocong by the colour of their shroud, red/blood shroud pocong typically is sent by a shaman/bomoh to seek revenge or is instructed by a master. Theres also tree pocong which are pocong that are nailed to a tree to gain wealth upon a person. Theres also pocongs with different sizes and height, not sure the reason for this but still terrifying to look at. There is also pocong that is used in restaurants to spit on foods to make it tastier (pelaris/promoter) and attract customers which is very much common. There are many different types of them some cannot hurt you and some can. Their purpose can vary too

The video not even played yet but I already loving it. 1:25 usually, when the deceased were placed in the grave, the imam will loosen the ties that binds at the top and the bottom before burrying them. According to the legend, pocong will only rise from the grave when they forgot to release these binds. And they dont really want to scare you or attack you, they just want to get their peace like u said so. In fact, after you release their binds, pocong will disappear and leave you with a bunch of treasure. Its just that they got this creepy af looks, people tend to think that they want to scare you. Pocong is chill like that. And also, 1 version of pocong is that, they actually teleport instead of jumping or floating.

Poj Dab?????!!! Hmong mentioned??? Omgg technically she can haunt whoever pisses her off. But yes she is a woman who either committed suicide or died because of an injustice to her. She would come back as a poj dab to haunt and drag the soul of the person that hurt her when she was a human being. The way my dad would describe them is they would be wearing Hmong clothes, classic black top, white skirt, black apron with the red sash. Very pale skin, long dark hair covering their face, long ass blue tongue sticking out. There’s another variant which is called “Poj ntxoog” which are similar in appearance but only smaller like a toddler or child. Some say their feet might be backwards and they hide in the forest and would eat crabs from streams and rivers. They’re also like little minions to these tiger spirits.

Also as someone who has been to 2 funerals in my life, we don’t untie the the top knot until the corpse is buried in the grave. My high school doesn't have any toilet horror story but our dorm is. For us, it's not the toilet but the store. There's an old, abandoned and creepy store inside the dorm which forbidden to be open. There are so many stories lurking around the store but yeah. It's still creepy.

The thing is to get rid of or defeat the manananggal is to find it's lower half, salt can be used on it or it can be burned too but the manananggal can feel the pain, it will either scream or screech (I think) will retreat to its lower half to probably find the human who found its lower half, Also what they said is when your going through some forests with bushes, and things, you have to say "Tabi tabi po" or is what we say, that's all I've learned, correct me if I'm wrong (Also can you cover other Phillipine myths?) I also think that Hanako-san pulls her victims into the toilet to h3ll I think, or there are some where she doesn't harm you.. And with the tiktik , I think when it's far away, it's sound is loud but when it's close it's quiet, it's like tricking you to think it went somewhere else..

You need to dive more into the south-east asian folklores. Burmese, for example, has a type of folklore creature that derives from a dead monk with unresolved matters. The creature uses its long ears to covers itself like a blanket to sleep and has no effect from people chanting prayers since it's a monk.

The scariest thing about the Pocong, from what I was told growing up, they appear & wait until someone notices. It is said that besides floating, the most common way they move is by hopping (due to their tied nature) or rolling. From an Islamic view, they are apparitions of jinns. A jinns nature is to frighten & lower a believer’s spirit so they could attack or even possess the individual. So yeah if you see one don’t acknowledge it or show that you’re scared.

im in secondary school and on that day my class were going to a learning journey to mount faber, it was during sci lesson when my friend went to the toilet, a few minutes later she went back to class looking terrified after a few hours later when we were having lunch she told me she was alone inside the toilet and she heard singing she check all the toilet stall but they were really empty so thought maybe it was from outside then when she was washing her hands she said that from the side of her eyes she saw a women in white and wearing white hijab and had a burned face at one of the stall thats why she ran out. then during social studies she saw the same figure sitting next to one of our classmates. then we went to our malay teacher and she recites prayer for her

That if you untie it all from head, body, all the way down to its feet. If you were allowed to kept the ties, it can gave a lot of wealth but it cannot be inherited at all.

Fun Fact: others speculated the word "Asu" from the word Aswang is derive from the word Asura or demon, there are many type of it who could fly crawl or even shapeshift to many form, there is also a much more powerful and have a higher rank of Aswang called "Gabunan" which cannot be identified as an Aswang when its on its regular form, it will act and look like human and cannot be countered by anything including salts and other things, Aswang also dont have any reflection and u're reflection in theyre eyes will be upside-down, it can be killed by using salt and garlic smell bad to them tho it cannot be used to kill it, burning rubber tires can be also used to ward it off becuz they have a better and more intense smell than normal human which even when a human smell burning rubber it will be pretty disgusting, its not a type of monster but also used to be human and that have been granted power by Demons using a ritual, it originated from tribes which worship demon, u can avoid getting infected by it by not eating anything that someone u dont know have given u, or u can put Calamansi on the food given to u to show it true form, the one they use to infect others vary from just a black orb thing called "Mutya" or theyre saliva, if u were infected by it, at night u will unconsciously transform and murder people, it can grant u great power when u were able to control it, tho u need a special oil to rub on ur skin to be able to fully control it. I actually believe in it as my parents and grandparents have encountered it, the one i remember is when my Grandpa when he's young and got a gf in Capiz(a place where it is said to have many Aswang) he's gf when he's going to kiss it it randomly make its tounge longer and my grandpa was so shock about it, and the second one is when he got an aswang friend that is a mananangal which could fly, he promised him to make him a scabbard then he forgot about it and it will shake the tree and they will hear it and when they look there is no one there(if i remember correctly if freaking happened at daylight) and its also the one that give my grandpa a thing that have oil and it will boil when it sense someone will harm u, tho it got stolen on my grandpa's bag, and when my grandpa and grandma were away on work and my Mom who is just a kid at that time taking care of my uncle and bro its mid-night when they suddenly hear a "Tik Tik Tik" something like that becuz my uncle who is just a baby at that time is crying and someone laughing, i think its a tik-tik whose just a low level aswang that is very weak tho its still stronger than most humans, luckily it weren't able to harm them. I personally didnt have any encountered with them yet, other than when i was just in my moms belly and many big black cats were able to got into the house but they weren't able to get into my moms bed becuz she prayed that night. Dont believe on bs who say that it can only be a seen with third eye as its literally a human who were granted power by the demons or just got infected, and they dont die in the sun, they are not vampire. Wanna know something about the sigbin? It can freaking suck ur blood by using ur shadow, u cant also become like it becuz its just a pet of Aswang, tho it can be trapped and put in a jar and will grant u fortune, tho idk if that fortune is true or not

Also another story i've heard: The peak in history for aswangs is WW2 becuz they r basically helping the filipino and also gaining something from it, and bro when some filipino were escaping the japanese, bro they found a house with many parts of human and human skin hanged outside, like imagine what u would even be scared of, will u be scared of the enemy or the aswang, but the aswang treat them nicely becuz they dont even have any reason to kill that family who r fleeing from the japanese becuz they have many food at that time.

Pocong Merah or red shroud ghost is arguably the most feared pocong variant due to its violent and dangerous nature, despite its rarity. It is said to be born out of a person who wished to seek revenge for an unpleasant death, making it more akin to a vengeful spirit often found in many folklores in the West
