When I started in beekeeping I used your design for my hives and love the setup.

Good to hear!..But it was not my idea...I borrowed it from a man from Southern Ontario Dave Erie. But I am glad you are enjoying it I sure find it so much easier to work the hive without twisting your back. Thanks. Scott

Fancy stuff Scott but thanks for making it look so easy. I built myself several double screen dividing boards that can be used somewhat in the same manner. Thanks for the YT video.

Looking at your plywood it looked a little weathered as does my . I had to sand the plywood at the doors even tho I painted it so the doors would open and close smoothly. That is a good idea how you are making them . The first I was watching one of your videos I looked, looked, looked an I thought am I seeing things then I thought well is the camera doing this . I said what the crap am I seeing this correct. It was your boxes with the frames side ways it there LOL. Hahaha . BUT l got thinking about that and I said that is a good idea. Let me tell you something I learned a long time ago and Bob also showed this idea on one of his videos an it works great . You know that most of the time the queen will run to the dark side of the frames SO on your inspection when you are pulling frames out you start pulling frames on the FAR SIDE from you an pull them coming towards you because when you pull the frames the dark side of the frame will always be the first side you see as you lift up the frame an there is more of a chance the queen being on that dark side . Sorry this was so long but I thought you could try it or if anyone else may try it . Good lock . Thanks

"Looking at your plywood it looked a little weathered as does my " ..The first few I made I just looked around the yard and found that old plywood, the next video i have some new stuff. "It was your boxes with the frames side ways" ...It lets me sit at the back of the hive and lift the frames out without twisting my back, it is so much nicer to work. I will have to think about working the frames from the far side first, I understand the idea of the queen is hiding in the dark, but I'm not sure I want to reach over the hive to get to the far side. I have notice so many time that you pass your hand over the bees that sometime they fly up, there are time when I don't even like to pass the hive tool from one hand to the other without moving my hands back closer to me so as not to pass the tool while my hands are over the hive. If I remember I will try to show and talk about this when doing a hive inspection this summer. Thank you for the ideas. Scott
