Honestly, this looks like a solid Shell Cup track. Easy enough for beginners, but the switching ramps are definitely a very interesting gimmick to bring more seasoned players towards the track

@@cutecharacterpower Well, I can't think of any ramps that completely go flat other than the glider ramps in 3DS Toad Circuit and Tour Rome Avanti, so unless there's a course element I'm missing from somewhere in basegame Mario Kart 8 or 8 Deluxe, then they got those mechanical trick bumps functioning from scratch.

@ZainePittman yep, they made completely modified the drawbridge and turned it into small ramps (which is a genius idea). Unfortunatly for them, since Delfino Square is a more popular track, they had to upload a version without the custom obj, in order for the track to live aside delfino in CT packs

Better than 95% of the booster course pass. Pretty much on par with base 8! A thing I think you could've done that would make this track feel better is make the height changes more extreme, and maybe add some really inclined sections with anti gravity. They worked on SNES Bowser's castle 3 and whatever the other Mario circuit from base 8 was. to further reinforce the feeling of "choco *island* ", I'd have added a chocolate river going across the map, with 2 jumps over it. I understand how hard good looking liquids can be to make though -.- I wonder why new unique looking rainbow road remakes are so uncommon. Perhaps it's because of the difficulty of making some unique looking shaders? Some procedurally generated second order(I think that's how it's called when you use the second closest distance) 3d voronoi that you sample a slices of in a loop with toroidal coordinates where the layer to be sampled is constantly being incremented sounds pretty interesting though. I should try making that sometime to see if it'd look any good

you can't create custom shaders at the moment, we are limited to what the game gives you. these are some pretty cool ideas, though since this was my first course I decided to go for something simple, but I'll definitely get some inspiration from this for my next courses I do

What an incredibly well made track. I love the mechanical ramps. Not something I've ever really seen done before. I also like how timing it right enables you to take the glider ramp shroomless. I feel like this would be a JOY to play on 200CC

This is an insane re-imagining of the track the theming is on point, and it also has a shore so it actually feels like an island instead of some badland/swamp place! I love this one's a bit more light with the chocolate theme, like there's chocolate formations, but most of the track is still a muddy valley like the original, just being more playful with the track's name like Cheese Land in 8DX, as opposed to other mods that make the place look straight out of Ninja Breadman, ugly generic candylands with a bunch of random lollipops and jelly beans everywhere This Choco Island looks awesome, and the layout also looks very fun, legit something the 8DX team would've made

I can understand why Nintendo wouldn't include either of the Choco Island tracks, as they already included Choco Mountain in the Booster Pass. But the fact that fans can make a basic SNES track look this good in Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is already astounding, as opposed to what we mostly got in the Booster Pass.

holy shit this map looks incredible the environment just on its own looks on par with the game's vanilla tracks, the music is excellent as well and i really love the way the abundant jump ramp things were converted into something a bit different can't believe you'd leak a totally finished but unused official track like this smh (...Kidding! The only thing I would recommend is to have the final lap variation of the music play at +1 pitch. I always find the higher pitched music to be more intense!!

Basically perfect. My only critique is that switching ramps switch a bit too unexpectedly. Maybe if there was a sound queue or some kind of indication before they switched, it could avoid catching players off guard maybe. Otherwise perfect.

no, most of the textures are custom made or heavily edited, the dirt offroad being one (it's wario stadium's but heavily edited to have more detail)

The mud texture from Waluigi Stadium is literally from Wario Stadium, but it is recolored and it is 512 x 512 instead of 1024 x 1024, and the out of bounds sand texture from Waluigi Stadium is from Wario Stadium too, but edited and recolored and it is also 512 x 512 instead of 1024 x 1024
