Super Nintendo is one of the best consoles ever made, but never seen a Jr. here in The Netherlands. Great video as always, thank you.

I'll never understand why people are replacing the 7805 regulator in these consoles.

They cost a nickel?
@Voultar5 ай бұрын
@@jamesdavies686 That's a pretty silly reason to replace something.

Anything particular in the SNES you think is worth changing if you aren't having any issues?
@oOignignoktOo14 ай бұрын
I never replaced the regulators but I always added non-conductive thermal paste between the regulator and the heatsink to help make an even surface for thermal transfer. From the factory it doesn't have anything. I think people just replace the regulators due to their age and see it as preventative maintenance

When you use the FR-301 i recommend you do a circular motion while you suck the solder out. I found it removes more that way.
@RetroRenegadeRepairs8 ай бұрын
I used to do that with the XBOX recappings, but I found that the FR-301 tips were losing their shape and were no longer transfering heat. I guess I could have been too rough with the tip when I was performing the cap extractions. Have you experienced this?

You should look into the retrovision cables you might like them

I may consider that. Do you know if there is any input lag?
@rubenmejia48817 ай бұрын
@@RetroRenegadeRepairs No, I found this quote from their website. "Our circuitry does not introduce a meaningful/perceptible amount of latency (less than 1μs ≈ 0.00006 frames). However, it is possible that your television, monitor, or video processor introduces noticeable latency when processing a 240p YPrPr signal. This can be determined ahead of time using the 240p test."
