While “The Satan” in Ninja Kids might just be a translation glitch (Japanese doesn’t really have a definite article, so its usage in English can be unintuitive), it also aligns with the usage in the Hebrew Tanakh. The book of Job refers to השטן (HaSatan), meaning something like “the adversary/accuser”. If you only translated the article, it would be “The Satan”. Just a neat little tidbit.

Probably the most MOST underrated game from Capcom is Tiger Road, the Ghosts 'n Goblins unpopular brother (from the same creator Tokuro Fujiwara). Is a shame that Tiger Road was never ported to SNES (only and poorly to the TG16), is a short but very fun side-scroll fighting game (well is a 1987 game, so don't expect too much), with nice music and sound effects, and a hard to master jump as part of its proposal, and with an amazing Chinese folklore behind. At least Trojan had his own NES version, and GnG both NES and SNES: Tiger Road should have a sequel, remake, or a relaunch, other than the lost and forgotten hidden gem in Capcom's Classic Collection Vol. 2 for PS2. For me is a classic, and a must play game if you love the Side-scroll fighting genre. Cheers.

Prior to the announcement of the DLC characters, there were references in the game's files to such characters as Black Panther, Monster Hunter, etc, and Black Widow was among those names. Noticing that there were more Marvel characters than Capcom ones, people started assuming that "Black Widow" was referring to the Slam Masters 2 character so that it would even out. But then it just turned out that no, it was in fact Natasha Romanoff, this whole fan-theory was a case of Epileptic Trees, and Crapcom just really wanted to piss off people with OCD.

A "hot dog" is a pilot that unnecessarily shows off. This was universally understood in the 80s. Many of our grandfather's told us stories of WW2 besides the old war movies and literature we grew up with then. When I was growing up every kid pretty well knew every detail of military jargon and culture and I remember us being able to name every weapon and vehicle and many of their tactical uses and benefits. There were even trading cards on these subjects. It was like the space shuttle and Nasa missions, you just knew all these things through osmosis somehow. Like the rules of sports and boxing weight classes. I knew more about that stuff when I was 10 then i do now. It was just what was "happening." It was like superheroes and their powers, for some reason you just knew all this stuff, it wasn't in question. Like later kids knew pokemon stats. Im pretty sure that came later but it was still the same people in the same world from developer to audience. Especially in terms of shooters, which were mostly an arcade generation thing. Edit: Example: "This guys a real hotdog." "Don't be a hotdog, kid, think of the mission." "He was a complete hotdog in flight school, but one day of action changed all that real quick." Just a guess, but probably derived from the exclamation "Hot Dog!" When witnessing something spectacular. That would be in line with other slang of the 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s generations. "This guy's one of these "Ra-Ra" types, always cheering his side on regardless of the outcome."
