Even though I have always had and will have Springer's I find how the HPR work totally fascinating and one day would love s dsys shooting with some. The dog has progressed really well its a credit to you 👍👍

I am in Denmark. The decline of small game is a problem everywhere, I think. Grey partridge used to be everywhere even 20-30 years ago here. Black grouse went extinct in the nineties. And even pheasants can no longer reproduce properly on their own. I work on an estate with a shoot, so pheasants here are abundant. I am considering getting a new dog. Used to have a spaniel, but now I think of getting a brittany. I completely lost all interest in hunting tame pheasants, but woodcock and snipe are luckily still around for a reasonable price. Mates think I’m mad for not getting a spaniel or labrador

George, I have a question for you, do you think a setter would be suitable for wood cock shooting in heavily wooded mountain terrain like we have in West Cork?. I started shooting with my Grandfather when I was a young boy and my Grandfather always used setters and pointers in the heavy cover of the West Cork countryside and I remember the red and white setter "Grouse" was constantly going missing in the heavy cover but when you saw him in set,it was the the finest thing you could see! Should I follow my heart and get one or my head and get another Springer?

Whilst I have a great fondness for a good springer, imo it's infinitely more enjoyable watching a setter work birds.

Better with a springer, imo. It's really hard on a setter to be locked solid on a woodcock for half an hour, the bird won't budge and the dog lost in a bush...at the same time you losing your mind as to where he is, maybe calling and whistling, but he won't break his point.

She reminds me so much of my aria when she was that age the things the way she works it funny because I nearly called her rua red in Gaelic. One thing how have you found her with fireworks. Thanks for great vid
