See you and people like you are the kind of fans that hold back the community, you call me delusional because of my excitement for not just fatal fury but the company as a whole. The possibilities of what SNK could do are insane and frankly bigger than the 90s potentially. @@DecepySwag I played every KOF excepting 12 and 14, I have thousands of hours on 15 and I play locally with friends each week. It is not hate, I like KOF and would love to see SNK good games succeed, for real, but over hyping only lets to delusion, just see how behind SNK is with content on the game compared to other big titles. New Group seems to be better and more aligned with solo content like SF for instance but it is impossible to me watching 25 years of this game history to think even half of what you expect is feasible. I hope I am wrong tho but let's see in the really near future. And I will for sure buy Garou, heck I bought KOF 15 twice BTW, so I put my part but SNK has done so much damage to itself with the online and lack of story/solo modes that it is hard to revert.

I'll be happy to admit I was wrong if that's the case, but after watching the video I agree 100% with this sentiment, I don't even know how terry dlc doing well is any indication on what snk had to do with it other than licensing the character too, I seriously doubt the samurai shodown rpg is going to make any significant impressions and while I do like how COTW is looking, there is NO chance it will have more than 200-300 players on steam after the first month.

The only thing you keep harping on is my title, but not ONCE have you mentioned ANYTHING i said in my video. Bro, here in South Africa people have always loved KoF more than street fighter. SF arcade machines used to be empty af compared to a massive line of people waiting to play KoF. The KoF scene was so massive here in the early 2000s

KOF15 didn't grab me, but City of The Wolves came out with a banging art style and recent announcements turned it into a must have. So much single player content.

As someone that loves fighting games and plans to get Fatal Fury, I hope they have enough Single Player content to attract a wider audience. SF6 really raised the bar with World Tour mode. It got a lot of my friends to give the game a shot. Hoping SNK has something good planned because this game looks too good to be another hidden gem.

Agreed. I just said the same thing. Fatal Fury is gonna have an RPG mode but so far from what I seen it's just a 2D map screen you pick spots to go to reminiscent of Art of Fighting 1's non selectable map of South Town in its arcade mode.

I'm curious about the genuine impact of world tour mode. It is a lot of single player content for a fighting game but is it really quality content. I love these games but world tour is absolutely of no interest to me. World tour feels like a janky afterthought they felt compelled to include because of complaints of no single player content, which I understand. However, world tour mode on its own is...I mean come on nobody can say sincerely that it is good surely? Did this really bring people to SF who wouldn't already have tried the game based in its core gameplay..you know the actual fighting game component. Good AI and a decent training and arcade mode are more than sufficient. By good AI I don't mean reading your inputs hard, I mean ghost battles and such as well. I can't wait for this game but they don't need to waste time on a third rate RPG mode.

@@jamesanthony9316 It’s a fair question. I like to check profiles when I play people. A lot of players have a ton of time spent in World Tour mode, so lots of people do like it. It’s janky for sure, but I know people that bought the game because they like RPGs and this open world mode looked fun to them. An open world rpg mode is definitely more interesting to most than the MK or Tekken story modes, which is basically 80% cutscene and some battles. Is World Tour flawed? absolutely. But it definitely helps draw a casual market which is critical to the success of the game. Too many casual gamers are afraid to play online modes, especially at first, so single player content is important to helping people get comfortable. SFV learned that the hardest way possible and it had a brutal perception at launch. I’d say World Tour Mode it’s a major step in right direction for fighting games.

I like this energy. Give developers their flowers when they make the right moves. Capcom and SNK putting aside their differences and trying to grow the FGC together is great to see. That's why I'm betting Harada is doing what he can to midwife a new Virtua Fighter. A rising tide lifts all ships.

Great video bro! I agree SNK has been cooking. With SNK starting to support tournaments, community art, and being more active with interviews, SNK is on the right path, and I'm happy to see it. As a big fan of SNK, I hope to see maybe one day of updates with stages and costumes in future games, and I hope they continue with free character updates like what happened to Rugal and Goenitz in KOF XV.

I have no doubts that COTW will become the most successful title in SNK's history, but domination? Seems to me that it will reach closer to a GG: Strive level of success rather than a MK or Smash level.

I definitely get that the title make people go "he's smocking crack, delusional" but i feel like its not enough people really pushing the positivity or optimism. Its always a hope for bare minimum stuff. Im really happy my video was able to boost your hopes.

First things first, that new intro is dope. I've been labeling SNK's run between KOFXIV to Garou: CotW their Redemption Arc given all that company's been thru since the late 90s. It's actually been really nice seeing them rise like a phoenix from the ashes of its former iterations. Not to mention getting their name back out there with character crossovers (Tekken 7, SSBU, DOA 5 and 6, Fighting EX Layer, etc). While I wouldn't go so far as to say they're gonna dominate the modern FGC (Capcom, Bandai Namco, NRS, Arc Systems and even Nintendo have been ingrained in its DNA for decades now, so the competition will be FIERCE going foward), I can see SNK fully bringing itself BACK into the same level of status as those houses. They've been slowly nudging their way there with SamSho 2019 and KOFXV, but I feel CotW will be their biggest push towards that reality. Plus, SNK is still evolving and refining their games in terms of mechanics, presentation, and art direction. So they'll likely have their seat back by the time we get AoF4, KOFXVI, the SamSho '19 follow-up, and a few older franchise revivals (Last Blade and World Heroes, please).

Yeah I agree and I understand the apprehension with me saying dominate the scene, yeah im being hyperbolic about it and I dont think itll be like "SNK IS THE MAIN FIGHTING GAME EVERYONE PLAYS" kinda thing. Not that im saying you think that, I've had people on reddit upset at the title even though they admitted to not watching lmao my thing is more so say that this is gonna be a big deal and it very well could dominate in the way. Plus everyone else gets to hype up their fave fighters/devs and shit and im like fuck it, this how I feel. Also thanks for the compliment about the intro. I wish FF CotW RPG mode would just copy SF6's World Tour mode which has been pretty fun to play since it feels like a more polished Final Fight Streetwise/Beatdown meets Yakuza. Just picking a destination on a map menu screen and fast traveling to do a fight wont be the same....🤔

The colour edit thing sells me lol, how is there still modern fighting games with 20+ colors for a character and not even one palette is completely pleasing. I thought BlazBlue is the last fighting game where i found a majority of character colors amazing. I'm definitely hyped for the game

I've always had a special place in my heart for KOF ever since I started playing KOF 2000 when I was a kid. That being said, I have no idea what Fatal Fury plays like. Does it have a similar basic combo structure to KOF, as in normal > command normal > special? Or does it use links like SF

Id say its the closest you'll get to a SF style game, instead of command normals you can do feints and breaks. So like how rock can cancel his rising tackle in 15? thats a "break" that everyone has in Garou and also COTW. Now to be fair im not super well versed in Garou myself so its a learning process for me too lol

Similar to KOF, though it does have some links, as KOF does. Fatal Fury is more similar to SF than KOF is, but it's still closer to KOF than it is to SF.

"Dominate" is a bit of a stretch. I'd be satisfied if SNK could at least live up to their potential in COTW. This is looking like their best bet to break out a la _Guilty Gear Strive_ .

@@DecepySwag I'm an old man, so I'm in favour of tempering expectations. Better to believe that SNK will do well on the lower end, so that when/ifnthey explode it will be that much sweeter, as opposed to getting one's hopes high, only for them to come crashing down if COTW doesn't go as high as you were hoping/expecting. SNK is definitely in a vastly better position now than they were 10 years ago (and 20 years ago - I remember when it was rumoured that Capcom would buy up SNK's IPs circa 2004!). I think it's unfortunate that they're owned by Saudi Arabia though.

When it comes to that, its just apart of the cycle. New fighter come out, they try it and they may stick with it or may not. The important thing is supporting the folks that will be around after the initial hype is over. That post release.

Unfortunately I don't think it will. i think it will show promising numbers at first then just dip to around 1k concurrent players. The only thing that can save it is that the number of gamers overall is much higher than previous years so that means more eyes.

I think with what they've been doing with the coming release of this game is giving it potentially the best roll out of any of their past titles and highest chance of succeeding.
