Personally, as someone who’s pretty pretty outspoken about not liking guest characters (in reference to MK) I actually love the SNK and Capcom crossovers we’ve been getting. Since the series’ both have so much shared DNA, it feels more like a family reunion rather than a corporate synergy scam

Well, I was expecting guest characters for KOFXV since SNK did colaborations for Soul Calibur, Tekken and Dead or Alive, now I guess that the next two season of Fatal Fury will belongs to characters from Namco and others from Tecmo plus some others Fatal Fury characters... and my hopes are with Rick Strowd and Alfred Airhawk.

judging by how snk emphasized they'll prioritize story the most even if they have to change a character's fighting style i think the main roster will concentrate on characters that are likely involved with the story the most too.

@@May2ndchannel With them announcing 3 seasons, I feel like his chances of being one are actually pretty good. Im not exactly super confident that he'll be in Season 1 though.

Still think they should focus on the characters that don't regularly show up in kof. Atleast hold off on Mary/yamazaki, til we get completed MOTW roster

I feel the same way that you do in regards to Mary and Yamazaki, bummed out cuz they are definitely getting cut to be DLC but at the same time I’m happy that MoTW characters are getting priority since it shows their commitment to finish these characters’ stories. I can only hope Mary is in that first season since she’s a favorite of mine but looking forward to both Ken and Chun-Li. Hope they announce a physical version preorder soon.

If we wanna get really crazy,SNK should add Alfred from Real Bout Dominated Mind in one of the seasons This’ll probably never happen but I wanted to mention him since everyone else is talking about some other character

Blue Mary could be base roster since the only grappler so far is Tizoc and he's your typical big body grappler. Adding Raiden/Big Bear would just be another big body grappler which is redundant and right now we only have four girls in a 17 person base roster. I don't see Joe in base roster at all, why even make Preecha at all if she gets no time to shine on her own. Andy is more likely but do we need another shoto-like character in base roster when we have six currently?

The 3 DLC will be Andy, Joe and Mary. They can't be base roster, because those slots will be for MOTW characters (Dong, Jae, Gato and Freeman).

8:22 Idk man, I have a feeling that Jae hoon and Dong hwan won't even be in the DLC, and instead we'll get Kim😂. The reason is because they already have Kim's assets from KOF15. They just have to tweak the model or something to make it look better. Easy job, easy money. On the other hand, if they decide to include his sons, they'll need to create new 3D models and also need to program their moves which takes a lot of time and hard work. And I doubt SNK will do that, I hope I'm wrong though.

I know that sprites and 3D models are very different things, but can't SNK modify Kim's model from KOF XV to include his sons in the game, I mean, Tizoc's model is probably his King of Dinosaur's model with a few modifications Speaking about that, since Vanessa moveset is the same as Rick Strowd, couldn't they just do the same thing I said about Kim?

The assets never factored into it that much. KOFXV didn't add a lot of popular characters they had from 14 at any point, and added a lot of characters with no modern models to work off of. And even now though they're bringing back Mature and Vice, the models seem to be almost completely redone from 14.

17:28 Pretty cool with the guest character choices, but i think it's too safe. If i can choose, i'll pick Alex over Ken, and Juri over Chun. Why? Cuz we already got Terry-Ken interaction in SF6, and possibly we'll get the same case with Mai-Chun in SF6 later on. That's why i feel like picking Ken and Chun is just too safe.

Okay, but if Mary and Yamazaki end up as Season 1 DLC that's not about money this time, because they're not charging extra for that. Holding them for Season 2, which I think is likely for Yamazaki, is where SNK gets the most from them. The only reason I think they might push Mary earlier is because she's gotten so much spotlight in SF6 World Tour. Having Mary, Joe and Andy in those 3 DLC spots intertwined with the Street Fighter guests makes sense. The Garou 14 minus Grant plus Vox, Preecha, Billy and Mai already covers the launch 17. Yamazaki headlines Season 2 with Mary and/or Duck King if they haven't shown up yet. Season 3 scrapes the barrel and ends with an AoF guest to transition to the next game. There won't be a Season 4.

In regards to your first statement, I had that realization at the 14:03 mark when talking about Ken & Chun. Sure I didnt explicity say it also applies to Mary & Yamazaki if they are Season 1 (it does) but anyways...

I believe Blue Mary will be part of the base roster. At best, we'll get at least 3 or 4 brand new characters as part of the base roster. As for the Street Fighter characters, I honestly thought Ryu was getting added considering how both Capcom and SNK had the main posters of SVC Chaos, and Capcom Fighting Collection 2 featuring Terry and Ryu facing off against each other. I'm personally happy that Ken and Terry were acknowledged as eternal rivals of Capcom and SNK respectively. I personally hope SNK would consider giving this game more than 3 Seasons of DLC, because I feel this game is made to be a direct rival of Street Fighter 6. Like you said Chris, COTW has the potential to be most ambitious title yet.

I don't think Ryu should be added, his playstyle would be quite similar to Marco's, Ken's not only considered Terry's rival, but his moveset is quite varied with plenty of kicks which sets him appart from Ryu. Not to mention that SNK could add Ryo as Mr. Karate, it would be quite strange to have 4 shotoclone type characters, with three of them wearing similar martial arts uniforms

@@pablocasas5906 I personally feel that Ryu should take a break and let Ken shine in a crossover moment. Though I don't mind Ryu being added if SNK decides to have more Street Fighter characters added. He'd be a perfect rival to Ryo. In terms of movesets, I'm sure each would be given moves that differentiate one another. With Ken and Chun Li being based on SF6, Ryu would be based on his SF6 attire. And yeah, there'll be classic outfits for the SF characters as alternate outfits, but still.

I'm not trying to hate, but man... 60 bucks for 17 characters at launch is not looking good. It will be justified if COTW has the Arcsys-level of graphics but we know that SNK is not there yet. But hey, if less characters = better polished game, i guess that works too. I hope this game will sold well.

@@PiccoloNamexio I mean when it comes to major fighting games from the past couple years , the base game plus a full DLC season pass is usually 60 bucks plus. On top of that, there is more single player content in it compared to previous SNK fighting games which were definitely around the same price at launch with some being higher than that if you pre-ordered the DLC along with the base game. ArcSys level graphics wouldnt have done much for me if COTW hadnt included the single player content that it has. Guilty Gear Strive got boring hella fast to me in the beginning after playing like 600+ matches and I only really got back into it because of the game getting new mechanics, characters getting new moves & even more new modes coming for the game. I get that everyone has their non-negotiables, but graphics just doesnt really do it for me if the game cant keep me engaged. All in all, I like the price tag for COTW, given again the base game + DLC usually costs much more with other major fighting games. The wait might be grating, especially if someone I really want gets revealed early...but still.

@@winterice2022 KOF XV technically doesnt have a "Season 3" far as we know now. Just a few more characters. I messed up with making that video saying that sometime ago. I jumped the gun. I do hope Vice & Mature are not the final two characters for XV.
