Kevin Rian from Garou would be interesting as a character added to the Metal Slug universe, like they did with Leona.

This looks fun and all, but I feel like you could do some really cool stuff with a 2D Contra-like with modern tech. Especially if you're willing to refresh the look. It's the modern age, with modern hardware, we don't need to rely on pixel graphics anymore. Don't get me wrong, the pixel art can, and does, look good. But a full animated, fluid, Run and gun with some unique mechanics thrown in could be interesting. I'm defiantly keeping an eye on Tactics though, seems like a fun idea.

an eighth game in the franchise should have happened a couple of years later after the home ports of kof 13 on ps3 and xbox360. then a ninth entry during the ps4/xbox one cycle before successors came out in late 2020. anthologies of both metal slug and samurai showdown came out for the Wii, but snk should have tried to port the sixth samurai showdown to the wii U. if an eighth game happens one day characters from the GBA game should be playable alongside fiolina germi and company.

Would you want SNK to do an updated Metal slug collections for modern platforms? Like how CAPCOM did the fighting game collection and the mvc collection. Gallery mode, jukebox, online ect.

The only way Metal Slug could REALLY return, would be with hand-drawn 2D HD sprites, new smooth animations and backgrounds, possibly by the same people who has worked in the past on the previous original titles. But this would require a lotta money and development time and it's known that Japanese developers are usually given a very strict and short time to do anything. Also, the original team no longer works for SNK, which sucks big time...

The sprites don't have to be hand drawn, what youre asking is you want the exact same games as before. Sure if you want the side scrollers back then cool but it doesn't have to be the same folks. But i understand wanting the series to be as good as possible in quality

@@DecepySwag Well, of course, i would want that. That's what the series is about and what's famous for. It's an arcade side scrolling shooter, not a turn based RPG. "So you want the exact same game as before" As if that's a bad thing... Edit: what's the same it's just the GENRE, what's different, is the weapons, the stages' level design and the enemies, duh...

I am not saying its bad wanting more side scrolling metal slug, I agreed with you about wanting it to be as good as the og games or better. All I said is it DOESNT have to be the exact same, as in it would be fine if it came back and looked slightly different or whatever. You took 1 part of my whole comment and just went off that.
