I played Fallouts 1 and 2 for the first time this year and they really improved my appreciation for the NCR even more despite them already being my favorite faction. It's one thing to know the lore but it's another to play through it and experience it. Where like in Fallout 2 the wasteland of Northern California, Southern Oregon, and Northwest Nevada felt even more chaotic than in Fallout 1. Slavery is rampant, lots of people are addicted to jet, there is more widespread bigotry towards ghouls and mutants, mobsters rage war everywhere, and of course the Enclave is snooping around. It feels like a breathe of fresh air when you reach the friendly orderly town of NCR where the Rangers are abolitionists and Presidential Tandi genuinely wants to save the people of the wasteland

There are non-canon answers to that. Aside from mods and other fan made content, we have a non-canon answer from before the bethesda aquisition. Fallout Extreme is a canceled rts game that would've been set patrialy in the pacific northwest. Basicaly, post war Seattle became a rainforest (beacuse wacky radiation science) while the rest of the region became sort of like feudal europe, with the most powerfull "kingdom" being the highly aggressive Issaquah nation. Now, realisticaly, the NCR could beat them, but as of New Vegas their forces are focused on securing the Hoover Dam, which is an abundant source of water and electricity very close their central locations like Shady Sands, The Hub and the Boneyard. If the NCR wins in New Vegas (and we assume that the Fallout show only happens in a timeline with another ending), they'll likely annex Oregon, Washington and even British Columbia within a couple decades.
@Fusseliko3 ай бұрын
@@CharlesMotosierra If the show wants Mr. House to be alive and powerful enough to do anything, which is likely, his ending is probably the ending they'll go with. Also yeh to beat the BOS its guerrilla warefare and terrify them and do as much damage to their access to resources then keep sniping them and limit them more to the point they are forced to use squires to barely keep their numbers up. The BOS weakness is just not recruiting american citizens like how NCR and legion does it. The BOS are a bit glorified scavengers in truth and their weakness is surprisingly their isolationism. The best, accurate assessment of NCR comes not from a faction, but from a person: Rose of Sharon Cassidy. Her full dialogue tree reveals deep, thoughtful insight about the delicate state of the Mojave, a no-bullshit report of the major factions, and especially, the NCR and its problems. Cass's conclusion that NCR is a screw-up brother that messes things up, yet you stay with him and be there for him because he is family and that is what families do is everything I agree with about a country you are born in. Her comments that the NCR needs a good kick in the head (the leaders), and not the arms and feet (the soldiers) in order to shape up and become a force for good in the wasteland once again are spot-on.
