This was his one of his last 2 digital shorts at SNL. (The other being Lazy Summer 2) He didnt have a formal farewell like the others did cuz he hadn't announced it yet at the time. I think the most clever thing about this whole piece is that they deliberately left out any reference to Lazy Sunday, the short that literally put them (and KZbin) on the map, and then did an entire sequel to it the following week for Andy's last episode. I love how aware they were of their history and impact. The Lonely Island made SNL appointment television the same way Belushi, Farley, Ferrell etc. did.

To me, this is peak SNL. I remember watching SNL just for the Lonely Island / Andy Samberg digital shorts, all culminating up to this. Like I can remember actually sitting down and watching full episodes of SNL before this aired. Afterwards, I basically stopped watching. It seemed like the show was going in a different direction. And it's a damned shame, because it used to have such a charm. But I can't remember a single episode after this one, when the ones prior to this were so memorable.
