@@robertanthony9674 no iv been working on sleds since i was 12 years old im now 44. Raced SX and pro XC for 15 years with many wins and championships. A clutching master cat had a lot of trouble with the 1100 turbos in the beginning blowing belts. I can only assume this is probably one of the reasons anyway couldn’t get clutches aligned. U wouldn’t believe what iv seen from dealers most have bo idea what there doing lol!! I also repair sleds bikes atv’s and cars on the side. Iv seen things that make me think how some of these shops say in business its disgusting sometimes. Actually how I learned to become a mechanic is having shops work on my toys they never came back fixed or right. Told myself i can mess crap up for free dont have to pay people to do it lol!! My father had a 2009 1100 turbo with 5000 miles on it didn’t have the secondary problem but mine did. Iv also known many other guys with belts blowing on there 1100’s wish i new what I learned on mine maybe i could of helped them because there dealers didn’t. But what u said is definitely true in many cases just not on mine. Iv had to help a few 1100 owners now since I discovered the offset problem. I guess u never know could of been off other models but so many having the same problem my guess probably not.

No denying the ol F is still one of the most bad ass trail sleds, still to this day. I've heard a bunch of horror stories about the 1000 twin, and i'm a life long cat guy, they like to shake themselves apart, and for the cubes, it don't make much more ponies than a 700 or 800. idk where the styling folks heads were at when they built those year F sleds but they sure weren't on their shoulders, i always thought they looked like the big desert worms from the movie Tremors with Kevin Bacon lol Bring the sleds down to Nodak, we'll be riding for a month yet they way it looks. cheers fellas!

Actually the 1000 is a very reliable engine 165 hp stock. F8 was around 150 hp before the HO 800 came out in 2010. That did have dyno numbers that was around same as 1000 but torque was down a bit compared to the 1000. U put reeds good single with Y pipe heads or head work ur up around 200 hp. Port work could get 1000 up to around 220hp. The 1000 in the right hands someone that knows what there doing has lot of potential compared to a lot of sleds. The 1000 in the Cross Fire chassis can be a real weapon.
