Yeah, because she starves herself all the time. It’s so easy to get on that train of starving yourself and then binging. It’s not even really about control. If she ate ballanced meals several times a day, it’d be a lot easier for her to avoid the binging

Have you heard of intermittent fasting? 1 or 2 large meals a day then fast till the next meal It works by keeping your insulin levels low (low insulin = ability to metabolise stored fat) Sounds like what you've discovered! An easy way is to pick a place you'll eat your meals (eg: the dining room table) Then dont eat anywhere else. (so not in the kitchen, not in the car, not in the living room, etcetera, etcetera) (Avoid calorific or artificially drinks between meals too) If your having 1 meal a day then there'll be just 7 seperate times you sit down and eat each week. (14 if 2 meals a day) Compared to possibility of well over a dozen in a single day when mindlessly grazing!

Feasting & Fasting IS a good way to live and a far more natural way to live than 3 meals or 3 meals AND snacks in between! 1 or 2 large varied all natural meals per day, eaten till satisfied but not stuffed & fasting before, between & after those large meals. (1 or 2 every other day if severly overweight or insulin resistant)
@harkerx90295 жыл бұрын
@@TangledGreenMoss I agree that intermittent fasting *can* be a very good way to go, but it does have to come from a healthy mindset or it will be tied to guilt and disorded views on food. For some people, three meals a day keeps their blood sugar and energy on an even keel, and thats fine too
@TangledGreenMoss5 жыл бұрын
@@harkerx9029 true but living by blood sugar is a sign of being sugar dependent. Your body has 2 fuel sources, sugar or fat. Sugar stores last around 12 hours with no food intaken Fat can last a lean person around 20 days with no food intaken High blood sugar = high insulin and low Glucagon Low blood sugar = high Glucagon and low insulin They are opposing hormones. Insulin tells your body to store energy. Glucagon tells your body to release stored energy. So low blood sugar whilst utilising stored fat (fat adapted) is a very good thing for fat loss
@harkerx90295 жыл бұрын
@@TangledGreenMoss insulin only becomes a problem if you become insulin resistant or develop diabetes, otherwise its your body doing its natural thing. Not everyone loses weight on keto, and some people are so convinced they should avoid all carbs they won't even touch fruit and vegetables and end up with deficiencies and not enough fibre. Meanwhile lots of people lose fat just fine while still eating carbs, so yeah, I still think there is no one size fits all and intermittent fasting can be very detrimental to people who are approaching weight loss from a bad place emotionally.

I've seen other shows where they seem way off on the amounts too and seems way lower than it should be. Probably because they would have a heart attack if they heard the real amount. His workouts must be helping a little because the amount he's taking in is the same amount on other shows where people are morbidly obese. The experiment about 'variety' reveals a lot about so-called supermarket 'choice' and buffet/salad bars with so much variation. If it's there people will want to take as much of it as possible.

Metabolism does slow down eventually, mainly caused by drastically lowering your calorie intake for a long period of time. Doesn't really have anything to do with fasting itself yeah..

exactly. I don’t think your metabolism get slower but rather decreases naturally because you’re losing weight.

10:09 that’s a compete myth there’s no such thing as starvation mode. Your body doesn’t hold on the calories it simply uses them all the time. If you are not eating in a Calorie Deficit you will simply not lose weight it’s all a number game. If you consume 3500 calories all at once or thought out the day depending on your height, weight and activity you will not lose weight generally speaking. Metabolism has nothing to do with how often you eat. Source check out Layne Notron he provides actual research papers that prove starvation mode is not real

Starvation mode is a MYTH!! LOL. It cracks me up when I hear people's excuses that they are in starvation mode or need to eat more so they don't fall into it.
@estellelerecouvreux39164 жыл бұрын
Actually it's called a broken metabolism, it exists but most people use it as an excuse and don't have it
@jessicabeca12344 жыл бұрын
Starvation mode is when your body keeps you from losing weight to prevent starvation when you are in a long-term strict diet, basically it slows down metabolism and/or ruins it. It's not a myth.
@glowrillaz4 жыл бұрын
Jessica Beca actually it is. if you eat so few your body doesn’t get as much energy and thus slows you down on moving thats why you lose less.. not because your metabolism “broke”. there’s no such thing as a broken metabolism at least there’s no scientific evidence on it (each article/research has another opposed article). Also, what happens is that when you lose weight you start to need less calories and thus burn less and thus find it hard to lose more but gain quickly, which is completely natural. The difference between a slow and fast metabolism isn’t yet clear but a lot of doctors and physicians suspect that it’s very minor. Personally, i think if you’re treating your body nicely by leading a healthy and active life, your body will treat itself better and control its weight better, people call it fast metabolism but its just being healthy (eating, exercise, supplements, happiness, and good sleep)

Tbh I always thought I gained weight easily even if I tried dieting, so after I turned 15 (March this year) I started working out and avoided sugar, bread and pasta as well as oily and heavy foods. Which leaves- Fruits, actimel, boiled meat and vegetables. And I can say I was soooo wrong, i DO gain weight easily but i loose it as easy and i have officially lost 10 kilos since March. I'm so happy :)))) I hope anyone who has weight issues and wants to loose weight this is my advise - Avoid heavy foods, drink water but dont drink a lot, take your vitamins cuz if u dont its gonna raise more health problems, before exercising try drinking a juice with high fiber ( But that doesn't mean you drink it often and everytime you exercise) and finally find a show you can watch for hours and not get bored (this is gonna help u distract yourself from hunger) and I guess if you try "fasting" eat smth light

Cutting out carbs is not healthy, they are the main energy your brain runs on. Please consult a nutritionist before trying weird fad diets that don't work long term and damage your health.

Cutting processed foods, sugar, and high carb meals has reduced my appetite and helped me lose 12 lbs in 9 weeks. My body has adapted to using its own fuel source, so I don't crash, or crave junk. This is the FIRST sustainable approach that's actually worked for me.
