How can 6 people already dislike this video 6 hours after it came out?? Inexplicable. Fantastic video mate.

I believe there are some coaches out there who dislike him 'giving away' what they charge for. I agree it's great content and explained well. And to be fair, he's put a lot of effort in to how to shoot edit and produce to this level.

Thanks a lot for the useful tips🙏 although I don't have even a pool table, so let alone the snooker one, but I still really appreciate the effort you make and how deeply you analyse and show all the details, also doing that in less than 10 minutes! I'm really impressed with work you've done so far...

Great video, as always. There’s an issue with the terminology around “gravity”, and reference to it “taking over”. Gravity is constant. The ball falling into the pocket, isn’t because gravity has magically acted upon the ball; it was always acting upon the ball. This is a misnomer used by snooker commentators, probably indicative of the amount of time they played snooker in their youth. Keep the great vids coming.
@snerbsnerb24544 ай бұрын
With respect, everyone is very well aware that gravity is a constant force. The expression 'gravity takes over' just means that the ball is hanging around over the drop for a long enough time that gravity can act upon it and drag it down past the tipping point. If the ball is moving faster then it passes over the drop too briefly for gravity to pull it in. It seems an apt expression to me
@tvs3393 ай бұрын
Not at all. There are two forces at work here, gravity, and kinetic energy. Should the ball possess enough kinetic energy it will evade the clutches of gravity. Just as a spaceship in orbit around they planet has just enough speed to 'fight off' gravity's pull down (but not quite enough to escape it either).
@oskarskalski2982Ай бұрын
@@tvs339 kinetic energy is not a force, it is ... energy, energy of motion to be precise. And object in orbit is not "fighting off" gravity by its high velocity (geneve that velocity is always in frame of reference - special relativity) is the other way around, by accelerating to high speed it escapes gravity on the surface of the earth enabling it to fly into orbit. The object in orbit still feels most of the earth's gravity but its in constant freefall without anything stopping it (this is Newtonian description) or if you want description from general relativity it traces a worldline or geodesic since its in freefall (worldline also includes time because GR uses 4-vectors).
@tvs339Ай бұрын
@@oskarskalski2982 yes I meant factors not forces. There was a reason I put 'fighting off', not fighting off. A rocket doesn't accelerate to escape gravity just at the surface; gravity remains in space and at LEO an object travelling less than orbital velocity (~17,500mph) will be brought back down by the overwhelming effects of gravity. The analogy holds true for the snooker ball skirting the pocket (the edge of which mimics the gravity well of a celestial body). Too slow and it will drop. The force of Gravity outweighing the limits of the kinetic energy keeping the ball out. 'Gravity takes over'.
@oskarskalski2982Ай бұрын
@@tvs339 Yeah, ok I hear you:). I'm very into physics for some time so maybe sometimes I'm a bit of a stickler. What I meant is that object in orbit has such velocity "naturally", there are no outside forces that act on it, hence it doesn't need to fight off anything (gravity is not a force). If you want it to move to the lower or higher orbit then you need to put energy into the system and decelerate it or accelerate if you want it on higher orbit. But I understand it was only analogy for ball falling into the pocket so tere is no need to make whole essay in orbital mechanics;).

why is your table have a lot of friction for the balls? In a prof table the cue ball can travel a lot more distance than your table. What make is your table? I think the prof use a different brand in the matches.
