That the man won a match at a ranking event during his final season, when he was undergoing chemotherapy, in serious pain and chronically fatigued, is a testament to his resilience and courage.

Those too young to remember Paul may think people overstate his ability because of his tragic death but, believe me, some of the snooker he played during his Masters wins was as good as I've ever seen. He wasn't as good as Ronnie and John Higgins but he was on the level just below that,which wasn't a bad place to be!
@nathanwilliams21522 жыл бұрын
Exactly You don't win three Masters titles without being special. Not at the level of Hendry or Ronnie, but I loved watching him. Seemed like a lovely bloke too.

Too bad we never got to see if he would reach their level. He had the skill and passion to do so. One of my all-time favourite players.

I was 15 when he was going through that, which is probably why I had never heard of him, but to say I'm inspired by him is an understatement. I've not been having the best year so far, but now my problems seem trivial and I think its pretty amazing that so many years later this guys great attitude and personality is helping others to keep their chin up. So much respect.

I just cannot watch this, it is too sad. I started to watch and play snooker same time when Paul started his career, definitely one of my favorites. He was such a delicate player, never hesitated on his shots, played every frame with his heart. It will soon be his death anniversary, and birthday after that. Every year around this time, I think of him and hope that he wouldn't be taken away from us. But then I figured, maybe God needs someone to play snooker with, and he loves Paul the most.

Don't be sad. He's now downing balls and playing with the angels themselves. He might not have won the world championships, but that doesn't matter now, he's got his eye on the universal championships Every time you hear a clash of thunder echo, think of it as Paul in heaven breaking up the balls of yet another frame of the game he loved so much. He had a kid before he passed over, so his spirit still reigns on the earth. Give it 20 years and Paul will be gracing our TV screens once again.
