This movie came out when I was 6 years old. I remember being blown away by the cgi. At that time there wasn’t a ton of stuff like that. As a kid I loved the movie because it was fun. I loved spooky stuff. And back then we had a lot of spooky media aimed at us. But as an adult, after losing loved ones, this one really tugs at my heart strings. What I wouldn’t give to talk to my grandmother for just a couple minutes

If you haven’t already seen this you should check out “Now and Then”. It’s a 90s movie that also has both Christina Ricci and Devon Sawa. You might like it, you might not.

you know my favorite of this movie beside the romance scene with Casper and Kat was the scene where Casper, kat and Harvey were about to head up to the party But then Harvey says, uh 🙄 Where are we and The reason why that was my favorite part was because after the adventure they day been through Now came the funny part where the character that wasn’t with them and was somewhere else not knowing what’s going on while he was gone just realizes He don’t know how he got there and After what harvey said would’ve Made Kat had to say it’s a long story.😄

You know I once saw a video vhs trailer of a movie that Christina ricci was in called gold diggers secret of bear mountain and it was good 😊 and in that trailer I love how the narrator mention she was the actress from the movie Casper that gave me a classic vibe I enjoyed

Fun little connection that almost never get brought up.. human Casper was portrayed by Devon Sawa - who.. besides being a great dude in general - also wound up playing the lead role (Alex) in the first "Final Destination" movie.

Small piece of trivia for you. Originally there was supposed to be a musical number in the film, think Disney style. Unfortunately the cost of CGI at the time was so high that it never happened due to the budget. In the end the settled for the small dance number at the end.

the mansion was a real set they built, but after the failure of other casper movies, they tore the house down as not to do anymore sequels

23:13 well you gotta be nice to the girls dad so he won’t tell you to stay away from his daughter. 51:42 I always thought it was weird that Casper and his uncles had no defining human characteristics but when Kat’s dad died and when Crittenden died they looked like themselves.

I always wonder if Casper's father didn't write down the “recipe” for this substance somewhere? Couldn't they have looked for it and mixed another portion to revive Casper?

Christina Ricci as Kat in this movie still feels a bit like you're watching her portray Wednesday Addams, even with the lack of braids and black clothes. I was also really surprised to find out that Brad Garrett was the voice of Fatso.
