At 50:34 you asked if Sirius was gonna turn into a werewolf too because he was bitten? An animagus, a wizard or witch who can turn into an animal at will, is immune to werewolf bites. (In their animal form, of course. If they get bitten as a human, they'll become a werewolf too.) You'd think they would teach all the students how to become animagi since it's the best way to protect yourself from werewolves. Unfortunately it's not easy to become an animagus. It took James, Sirius and Peter three years, if I remember correctly :)

It doesn't, which is why they don't use magic against Lupin. They're not completely immune to magic, but they are incredibly resistant because werewolves are a lot stronger than human beings. 2. Which is why Sirius, James and Peter could hang out with Werewolf Lupin during their school years. 🙏🏾 AND once an animagus takes the form of an animal, they are COMPLETELY immune to lycanthropy. That's a fact. 🙏🏾 Proof? Sirius was bitten and scratched during his fight with Lupin and he was fine after :)

My favorite things about Prisoner Of Azkaban: 1. The Dementor attack on the Hogwarts Express. (Perfect dose of horror and suspense). 2.The song "Double Trouble". (Which is a nod to the witches from the Shakespearean play Macbeth) 3. Hermione punching Malfoy right in his smug face. 4. The introduction of Gary Oldman as Sirius Black and David Thewlis as Remus Lupin. 5. Harry flying on Buckbeak's back over Hogwarts (SPECTACULAR scenery). 6. Harry learning to use The Patronus Charm from Professor Lupin. 7. Harry fully using The Patronus Charm to save Sirius and himself at the edge of the Black Lake.

Crazy when you realize Peter was pretending to be Scabbers the rat for 12 years!! Being around Ron's family that entire time spying and hearing all those private conversations. You first seen him in the first movie. So he's been around Harry too going on three years of school. Something they didn't dive into in this movie that was in the book is that Sirius Black, Remus Lupin, Peter pettigrew, and James Potter were all able to turn into animals illegally.. they were once four best friends going to Hogwarts together. And the other friends didn't want Lupin to be alone dealing with his changes so they learned how to turn into animals to be able to spend time with him during those times. They were also the 4 creators/founders of the marauders map... So Lupin pretended to not know what the map was during the scene with Snape when he tried to confiscate the map in school and covered for Harry knowing damn well that he's part of the reason that it exist lmao. Mooney was Lupin's nickname because of the werewolf aspect. Wormtail was Peter pettigrew as he could turn into a rat and and their tails are worm-like. Sirius was Padfoot because as a dog he had padded feet (there is also a mythical creature of the British isles known as the Padfoot, giant dog creature, which like the grim was an omen of death) & prongs was James Potter because he could turn into a stag deer with the antlers. Harry's patronus dementor spell also takes the shape of the stag which you saw at the lake when Harry saved himself.

46:38 one thing they don’t touch on in the movies is how Sirius escaped Azkaban. Sirius saw the paper in prison that Ron was showing around of them in Egypt. He recognized Peter in rat form. Since he is an unregistered animagus and malnourished he was able to transform into his dog form, slip through the bars and swim to land unnoticed. There’s something about dementors ignoring animals. 49:30 so Peter Pettigrew along with Sirius Black and James Potter are unregistered animagus. Like Professor McGonagall who can turn into a cat whenever they can turn into their animals the only difference is nobody knows the three guys can do that. They did it secretly (although I’m sure Dumbledore knew) so they could be around Lupin when the full moon forced him to change into a werewolf. 53:29 so basically she’s older by all of the others in her class by almost a year since she lived two lives each day.

Dumbledore actually didn't know about it. Sirius told him the whole story at the end of the book. Dumbledore told Harry that it was a remarkable achievement, the most remarkable part keeping it from him.

Ok, about the time turners: At 1st many people hated the "going back in time" plot because they said it was a contrivance that could just always get used in a jam & was too much like science fiction. (Funny because Rowling always said magic in the HP universe is based in science, biological psychic powers coming from genetics & not from any religious/spiritual force. HP is written in the style of a mystery-action, like spy novels but in a world of magic. Still the magic part has rules & limits which keep it in check in the universe, like how muggle technology doesn't mix with magic well.) So the movie glossed over a couple details & Rowling finished working out the kinks later for the outline of The Cursed Child's ghostwriters to use. #1- The turner given to Hermione is not a permanent gift, but a loan only during school, facilitated by a teacher who must vouch for the student, to only the most promising students in Year 3 & up who want to take more elective classes than there is time for per day. Only the headmaster & the student's teachers are told if it's approved. The student is to keep it secret because the Ministry doesn't want other students trying to beg or trick the student into using it for any other purpose than the extra class/study time approved. #2- A biggie! The turner she is loaned has a limit of 24 hours! While The Prisoner of Azkaban doesn't get into full details, there's an in universe reason for the limit that makes sense, based on universal forces keeping things on balance. Hermione's statement about "awful things happen to wizards that mess with time" sums it up good enough for now. #3- In the Cursed Child , more details are given. In the past, some wizards created time turners from different experimental ways. But they varied in successful transportation both ways, & many tried to change the past for evil or financial reasons. The more made & used, the clearer it became that the universe tries to prevent the time cheat by making it so the further you go back in time the shorter your visit will be before you are forced to return & the greater chance that the travel doesn't go right. Wizards were injured badly in ways their magic potions & spells couldn't fix. Also, some wizards never came back at all, adding to worry about bad changes to the timeline of all of Earth. Still, more wiizards tried to use them for the wrong reasons until the Ministry decided to intervene. They passed a law against anyone using a turner for any unapproved reason & they started tracking down & taking them away from everyone. All found to allow more than 1 day of travel were destroyed for being too dangerous. Those left were deemed property of the Ministry, powerful tools that could only be used for important things like catching dangerous criminals. Eventually they were also allowed for school use by budding prodigies under reliable supervision, as it is felt that this helps wizard society at large by producing wizards with higher skill levels in all areas of magic. So this is why in the books/movies wizards aren't constantly time jumping & causing chaos in the universe. #4- By Rowling deciding this is how it works in HP universe & fixing the plot complaints after book 3, there's no temptation for herself to be lazy & use time travel as a constant way for the characters to fix things, which would be boring. She wanted to keep the story working like a mystery series. So time travel doesn't happen again until Cursed Child, where a new generation has to learn not to mess with time because things can backfire. There will be no going back in time to kill Hitler or such. Their universe likes staying away from paradoxes.

One last thing. Not sure if you noticed yet but one theme that has been consistent since the first movie is that the defense against the dark arts class teaching job is cursed 😂 noone who accepts that job ever keeps that job longer than a movie. There has been a different teacher for that class all three movies so far lmao Professor Quirrel in the first movie(the one who wore a turbin & had Voldemorts face in the back of his head) gilderoy Lockhart in the second one (the fraud who was famous for taking credit for things he didn't really do and got his memory wiped) and now in this third movie Lupin had to resign cuz of being exposed as a werewolf. The funny thing is Snape always wanted to teach that class but ended up being the potions teacher instead lol. Loving these reactions!! Looking forward to you reacting to the rest of the HP movies!! The time turner thing is pretty clever. As far as going back in time to take care of Voldemort, you still age as you normally would. So if you go back a week and return then you will be a week older. So if you are 13 and go back 50 years to take care of Voldemort, upon return you would be 63.

Personally what I liked about the Prisoner of Azkaban is Lupin and Sirius. Don't worry they'll be back. But also that even though Voldemort wasn't in this movie/novel, he's still involved because we learn more about Harry's past and what happened the night his parents died and about the First Wizarding War and how it ended. The Second Wizarding War is coming and y'all on about to see it soon. I will say this grab some tissues because it's about to go down. Also Petter Pettigrew is one of the most hated characters in HP but he's NOT the MOST HATED, you'll see
