The moment where Fang wears the purple dress was the moment where I felt really happy for fang. Her wearing the purple dress symbolizes the time where Fang makes the decisions for herself. No one is forcing fang to wear any dresses, but it was her picking it out and wearing something she truly feels comfortable with. Anon already seems really accepting and really accommodating throughout Fang's journey through ending 4. I have no doubt in my mind if Fang really felt comfortable about being Non-Binary, Anon in this route would be fully accepting and supportive of her doing so. We even see anon going out of his way using proper pronouns. However, with Fang, her transformation was incredibly natural. She never goes to gay aversion therapy or anything that forces her to change who she is. She is only supported throughout her journey and given a stable foundation to fully explore who she wants to be. Seeing that she is more comfortable with being known as She/Her, she takes it, not wanting to change her name back to Lucy. At least, not yet. All of the change stems from Fang's own decisions, after all, and once she garners agency over her own life do we see how much happier she is during that journey. Fang loves music and she is given the support to fully explore what she wants to do with said music. Being comfortable with the guitar and practicing gives her the opportunity to do great things without having to force herself into the rockstar lifestyle that Trish and Reed were ushering her into. Fang literally does what she is naturally great at, making music. Besides, it felt kinda great in the end for Naomi to be slapped by fang. She kinda deserved that after being incredibly manipulative. The most that has grown, however, was Anon. Anon used to be this shitposting troll that had no regards for other people and would rather stay invisible to everyone. However, during ending 4, we see how Anon had turned from that to a rather caring and selfless person who would be the first person to support others when the situation calls for it. Back then, Anon would totally shut out Trish if she did anything heinous to him. Now, we see Anon literally being the first to bury the hatchet and supportive to keep his friends together. He does get snarky from time to time, but the maliciousness is totally gone. Now he genuinely cares about others and empathetic to his friends. Hell, the only sad part in this ending was Anon having to leave Fang for years to go to college to get his degree. I didn't want any of the good times to end. Once Anon returns and sees Fang became a music teacher, I also felt even more ecstatic. It is confirmation that not only Fang felt love in her life, but it's because of that love that made her into a strong and independent person that will be fine no matter what life throws at her. Anon too. He has built himself up to be a responsible man and will no doubt be resilient to any adversity. The end picture really seals the deal too, because Fang's smile was the smile of TRUE happiness. She isn't overly jovial like the 3rd ending, but we see Fang truly content with her life and has finally figured out who she wants to be. I can write/gush so much about why I loved ending 4, but I would write an entire novel about this. lol

There is a lot of confirmation bias around the creators' intent regarding Fang's gender thing. Fang being a "she" was the original intent and was conceived before they shifted the narrative to Fang regaining her agency.

By the way, the hanzi on the lanterns at prom are actually deranged. Taken separately we have 天-heaven/sky 安-security/rest content 屠-Slaughter, butcher, slay 六-6 四-4 事-matter, thing, fact ect 殺-murder 仕-single item, letter (correspondence), paper document. BUT as I was looking into it (I'm learning kanji, not hanzi) These ones taken together: 六四事件 referrs to the tiananmen square massacre, with the hanzi in the foreground 天安門-Tiananmen So all together makes 天安門屠六四事殺件: The June 4th Tiananmen massacre. I was originally just going to point out the completely bullshit "oh heaven, cheap, gate, and then there's slaughter and murder, 4 and 6 what?" And here we are, Naomi pointing out the Tiananmen Square Massacre at prom. What a journey.

A really nice detail to notice is Anon's Posture both before and after the time skip. You can tell he's in a more defensive posture with his shoulders raised up considering his backstory, and after the time skip of Ending 4, he looks like he has more confidence and somewhat more relaxed, seeing as he's grown quite a bit as a character.

Snooters I have a confession to make. As a joke I started watching a play through of goodbye volcano high expecting it to be horrible. Turns out it’s alright. It has flaws but I enjoyed it I think I might actually watch the rest of the play through since snoot games over unless you decide to do the bonus content
