The first part of my Snoot Game analysis ^^ part 2 will be an in depth look at the endings.

When playing Snoot Game for the first time, while it had its flaws, it was overall good! Also, it shows the accurate representation of what students go through in high school as well as the struggles they face. While many people hated this game due to the "hate and transphobic messages", they either didn't get the true message of the story or just saw the reviews and took their word for it. While there were moments that I didn't vibe with such as the "t-word" and Anon's homophobic slurring, the story of the game is overall good. I'm glad you gave the game a chance and shared your opinion of it. I'm not gonna say it's a perfect 10/10, but more of an 8.5/10. If you're curious, I actually fixed GVH and made 5 alternate endings if the game had alternate routes; 1.) Alone (Worst Ending): Fang dies alone after failing to learn to value the life they've lived with their friends. 2.) Betrayed (Bad Ending): Fang's rich friend (decided to add a rich friend) tells them that their family is leaving for a place called "The Sanctuary"; a government bunker project where the "privileged few and genetically strong" survive, to survive and tells Fang off after their mistreatment towards them (Fang has the option to treat the rich friend with respect or be rude to them due to their higher status, however, the rich friend is extremely nice) and leaves Fang to die. 3.) Asteroid (Neutral Ending): Fang and their friends perform at their concert and celebrate their last minutes alive before the asteroid hits the Earth. This is simply the ending we get in the game. 4.) Sanctuary (aka Fallout, Good Ending): Fang's rich friend tells them that their family is leaving for "The Sanctuary" to survive and invites Fang to come with them after treating them well. This ending has 2 paths. The 1st one is where Fang accepts the offer and says goodbye to everyone without telling them the truth, except for their brother Naser and their parents. While hesitant, both Naser and their parents tell them to take the chance so Fang can be the "legacy" of Caldera Bay. The 2nd is where you decline it and decide to give the chance of survival to someone else (such as Naser or Fangs friends). Depending on Fang's interaction with every one of them, they can learn that some still had plans for the future (Naser, Naomi, and Sage) while others have accepted their fate (Reed, Trish, Rosa, and Stella). Your choice to give one of these characters a chance to survive would heavily affect their relationship with you, whether it's good or bad. 5.) Fury Fang (aka Mad Max, True Ending): Fang decides to spend her last moments with their friends just as the asteroid hits. However, the government decided to launch a nuke at the Asteroid, which scattered it to pieces. This, however, made the problem worse as the scattered pieces of the asteroid struck many places, including Caldera Bay. Fang and their friends take cover as a piece of the asteroid hits Caldera Bay. A time skip occurs showing the effects of the meteor, which left Pangea and its cities in a deserted wasteland. An apocalyptic-styled van approaches a stream of water with blades of grass emerging from the side. A mysterious hooded figure unmasks themselves revealing an adult Fang with their friends alongside them. They look ahead and wonder where the future will take them. The reason why the Mad Max ending is canonical is because it sounds like a joke at first but then WHAM. If the game got a sequel, this is where it would continue. That would be out of nowhere but something appropriate for a punk band (even though the game killed that vibe off). It also fits considering how they are punks and dinosaurs. Also, the perfect title for the sequel would be "Goodbye Caldera Bay", which fits how the survivors have to leave Caldera Bay to find a more habitable area. Overall, that's it. What do you think?

@@StarBlue42 Thanks! I'd figured that if they were to survive, their dystopian future would be definitely a Mad Max world. Also, with Furiosa coming out in just a month, I can expect Fang to look similar to Ending 2 Fang from Snoot Game to fit the tone. Also, Mango would be the mascot on their flag! I can already expect them to have an Immortan Jo-wait.....Immortan Moe! (OMG THAT FITS SO DAMN WELL!!!) It also fits with the game's theme shift. From Life is Strange to The Last Of Us. Overall, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

@@fanboy3376 Same. I can expect some moments like this to happen in Goodbye Caldera Bay. Reed monologuing: Reed: "My name is Reed. Our world is fire and blood. Once, we were students. Now, road warriors searching for a purpose. Even after the asteroid was partially destroyed, it still didn't make a difference. As the world fell, each of us in our own way was broken. It was hard to know who was more crazy... me... or everyone else." Naser being kidnapped by the dino-versions of the War Boys: Naser: "How much more can they take from me?! First, it's my blood, now it's my NasCar!" Fang reunited with one of their old friends: Fang: "Remember me?....." Would be cool to see these characters live in their own version of Mad Max.

Id argue that snoot games look at gender identity is better than most since they actively use it as a part of the story. The change of identity in the good ending has reasons that plays into fangs character. (A personal headcanon is that E4 Fang decides to go by She/they)

Yeah, if you pay attention to the little details e4 Fang still doesn't present in an overtly feminine way. They just aren't dressing in skimpy all black clothes anymore. I think e4 Fang just out-grows the need for a label . Where ending 3 Lucy just renounces everything without actually growing.

⁠⁠@@StarBlue42to be honest I see E3 Fang as traumatized. The only reason she renounces everything in the end like that is because of what happened, and it emotionally scarred her to the point where she’s genuinely afraid of music. Though it’s not so “out there,” it’s kinda subtle. And I feel like, in the case of Snoot Game, the reason why Fang was the way they were in the beginning was because of peer pressure from their band, but let’s be honest here, it’s mostly Trish. Fang just wanted a someone that understood them, hell, even listened to them i.e. the rooftop scene.

Sage technically does make an appearance in Snoot Game but its a very subtle mention back when Anon was checking Fang’s phone when scrolling through the messages exchanged between Fang and Trish on January 9th Fang will mention how they hope that Sage is still there science partner but that its been a while… with three ominous dots at the end there I find this Monty Python reference both appropriate and hilarious definitely glad to have found your channel Starblue!

I like how its characters can be read in many ways, for example its very much a lose lose situation for Trish, do nothing and lose her friendship with Fang if not that she's actively banking on her doing the band thing full time post HS to hopefully escape poverty, (in an odd reversal of GVHs narrative). Or do something and undermine her best friends attempts at forming new relationships, that she chose to do it publicly shows that she already knew what fangs reaction would be, she banked on the fact that Fang is (although presenting a strong front) hyper aware of how they are perceived. success for her would be fang Leaving anon for the sake of fearing association with him resulting in abuse from their peers. something that would have effected her Deeply as it did after the first concert, to Trish, the ends justified the means both for her plans and her Ideal Fang the Fang that she helped through a hard time/discover themselves. Trish's ruthless nature means that she would never not act and because of this she becomes a hypocrite and in almost all endings we can see this played out, especially in ending 4 when she becomes dare i say a Girlboss CEO mindset SIGMA FeMALE (slay) only in ending 3 does she realise that what she is doing is wrong, and even then after exhausting all options. thanks for video, gave me lots to think about.

Thanks for the comment ^^ I understand why a lot of people don't like Trish, but I get where she's coming from. I think Trish believes that she's the only person who really understands and can support Fang. From her perspective everything she did from beating up members of the audience, to humiliating Anon was for the best. She could really use Spears's "You aren't the only person in the world" speech.

So decided to boot up Snoot game to get the last two CGs I was missing that involved Naser to get them you first stay quiet for all of the rooftop scene while Fang pours out all her frustrations onto Anon after that proceed to get Ending 3 I achieved this by “Ask Naser”, “Get to Studying”, then “Go Home Early” which be enough negative points to set Anon and Fang’s path onto Ending 3 (unfortunately) after that get to the point where Naser is beating Anon up and there at the Auditorium you’ll get just lil more info from that day from Naser’s point of view it’s honestly sad to both read and see Naser in such a state even more so if you were to interrupt on the rooftop this one CG has this one small detail and man it just sad through and through for all parties involved anyhow wanted to share this info just in case you didn’t get those two missing CGs like I did I share this because I wanted you to have a 100% on all CGs and to exposit some additional info on that fateful day because I think its was more messed up than what I initially thought before I got the additional info from Naser. With that out of the way I thoroughly enjoyed this video essay the lil jokes you added through as well as your insight makes me glad I found your channel your really entertaining and I can’t wait for part 2!
