I love how “real” you guys are about this last part. You can see in your eyes how much of a mental feat it was to stay on trail.

Watching your trail experiences seem like a million years ago and far away from the changes that are likely coming to the PCT and they hiking in general. Glad to be along for the ride; thanks for providing it.🌿

Section J, oh so beautiful!!! My favorite part of Washington though was everything north of Stevens Pass, all the way to the border. Seriously breathtaking views! Washington hiking can be relentless in the weather. Getting out of the sleeping bag and tent in the morning was the hardest and the sun set so much earlier. Thank you for bringing back so many good trail memories. I'm loving your videos and don't want them to end.

Happy almost 1 year trail anniversary to you, Taco Salad!! I met you just north of Seiad Valley at camp; I was a sobo and your tramily kindly invited me to sit down and eat frosted animal crackers with you guys :) Really enjoying your trail videos and glad to see you guys persevered through cold and wet Washington. Hope you, Nick, and your tramily are doing well! -Goldilocks

Like everyone, I will be SO sad when the PCT hike ends for you. I can't fathom what could equal or top this but I bet you two find something! I am so glad I found your channel and watching your hike has added so much to my life... so proud of you. The scenery on this video was AWESOME despite the fog... thank you.

I was about a week ahead of you on this section of trail, and the stretch between Steven's and Stehekin ended up being one of my least favorite section of trail. I know there had to be some beautiful views there, but most of them were fogged in like you. The constant rain, cold, and the overgrowth on the trail that soaked you even when it wasn't raining not to mention the slippery mud made this section brutal.

It's too bad that going either NOBO or SOBO hiking through this area you get the cold wet weather with limited views, when the rest of the late spring/summer/early fall seasons are so beautiful.

Glacier peak was the mountain i used to see out my window every single morning for a year, i miss that so much. all these clips just brought me back to hiking in those trails and exploring that gorgeous area. i had the privilege of choosing nice weather days tho ksdjskdj. as always that music is super on point and the aesthetic video shots really made the video. im so sad that this series is drawing to a close but so happy yall are done with the mice and rain skdjskj

The last 2 years it has snowed on the last day of summer here , it doesn't this time , but it is coming . Well you did miss the storm at Stevens Pass but the 2nd one chased a lot of people off the trail who didn't finish except for IBTAT & CO who braved the 2 feet of snow to Canada.

relating so hard to those views... went on one of "the most beautiful" hikes around Mt Baker last August... saw lots of clouds! No one else on trail and have never been so soaked
@kellyjohnson36174 жыл бұрын
Wow you are getting treated to some nice weather in the northern cascades. Even though it’s that damp alpine cold at least you are getting nice views. In between fog banks. But the mice 🐁 up there are super aggressive unlike most of the pct. yea for mountain berries! I used to as a kid spend all day in the woods cuz there were always plenty of berries. I miss that part of WA forests. Next ‘town’ is stehekin. Still some adventures to come. Thanks for posting.
@mari.johnson4 жыл бұрын
It might appear we had nice weather, but I think that’s because I only really took out my camera when it wasn’t raining or when we could see views. So at least all the good stuff I saw is in the vlog! 😅

Thanks you for another great video, Mari. The Washington dream expressed in the phrase "warm and dry" sounds to be loaded with even more anticipation than "town food'. I hope your lockdown time hasn't been too frustrating after all those months of walking in the wilderness. At least your bodies have had a chance to recover from the sugar overload. If you were to do another thru-hike, would you change your food prep in any way? 🤗

You can become insulin resistant even when your hiking if you eat too much sugar.. You should have that checked out. I don't eat junk food on the trail for that very reason. Having too much sugar is like having too much alcohol to the liver. Get a complete blood panel now that your off trail. High triglycerides is a warning sign and a high Total LDL/HDL ratio above 5. Both your hemoglobin and your lipids become glycated from eating sugar and in most cases exercise wont prevent it. The human matabolism was not designed to handle that much sugar. "The dose is the poison", we can only deal with traces of sugar.
