Used your video as a guide , but I checked the template holes Vs the actual snorkel, corrected the template, then marked the holes , drilled 12 mm holes for the 4 bolts , fitted perfect!

Have you tried on deep water yet? Installed the same kit on my jb43 and was wondering if silicone should be applied to the connection to the air box, it looks like a really good fit but you never know

I have a new Jimny now but I did try this out in some deep water and no leaks. That being said it was just short River crossings. I wouldn't be comfortable wading for long periods of time. Was more worried about the difs and gearbox filling up

Good job... I am wondering; what size of tires you are using? Did you modify the car for the tires?

hola amigo, estoy usando google para traducir, así que me disculpo si es un error o no entendí tu comentario. Si llueve mucho, le doy la vuelta para que no chupe el agua.

Hi mate that black thing oval thing that was hanging down after you took the old airbox piece out where did you mount it afterwards?
@GERfusion4 жыл бұрын
max fuhri hello mate. It just goes back where it was. But you need to unbolt it to get that old air box piece out. It’s them 3 small nuts behind the battery holding it in place.

The black cylinder hanging down in the guard is the vacuum cylinder, I assume it operates the transfer case via the H&L buttons on the dash.

Where You find drawing to drill holes ? ThX

It should come with the snorkel if it’s purchased new. If you have purchased a new snorkel and it didn’t come with one, I’d get in touch with the manufacturer and see if they can send you a copy. If it’s 2nd hand then I can’t help sorry

I have been at it for about 2 hours and only one hole is in the right place, the big hole fortunately. So at least another hour to go. Mine is an $80A eBay air tech job and no instructions. Jimmy is 2010/11 model. Measured everything about 5 or 7 times. Drilled the 83 mm (31/4) )hole and nearly broke a wrist when it grabbed. Now have to redrill the 4 smaller holes, most are only a hole out, I’ll use large sheet metal washers and a bit of filler. Probably use a bit of sikaflex 291 to tidy up.

I think the right hand drive kit I received states 10/98+ and was for a slab or straight sided model. The only hole in the right place was the big one and it is directly opposite and above the air cleaner box. It took me an additional 5 hours to relocate the holes about 3/4 inch or 18 mm forward of the template and then time to fibreglass the back of the old holes and fill them with filler. I have yet to paint the panel but stuck the snorkel on anyway. The rear most hole is extremely difficult to put on the nut and washer. My hand is small but still too big for the gap between the panels. The upper bracket is pop riveted in my kit and the 5 mm pop rivet was too tough for my hands so I ended up using a g clamp to pop the rivet. I would recommend using the template to secure the large hole, then put the first stud in and put some paint, in contrasting colour to the front guard, on the end to mark the front hole on the panel. Do that successively with the other studs, one at a time to get the holes right. I might have to remove the bolts on the front guard to put the rear stud and nut on. So all up 7 - 8 hours without a break. Now for the diff breathers, hole it is simpler.
