Very nice. I have one on my Toyota. It was installed by a shop. I need to go back through the installation and see if they did a good job at making it water tight or just did it as a clean air intake. I know its primary intended purpose is clean, cool air but I'd like a nice water tight fitting as well. I just watched an ARB video on this and they recommended it be done as both.

You didn’t paint the upper mounting holes
@Xploring_The_Outdoors3 жыл бұрын
Actually I did not everything was caught on camera between batteries dying. All holes were coated with several coats of primer and sealed the upper holes with clear silicone before I inserted the inserts and on the insert itself before putting the screws in. Look at the tape when I peeled it off grey primer streaks on the tape.

Hello, thank you for your video, it will be very helpful to me when I install it on my 2017 Frontier. I have a question for you, was the pilot hole, on the template, not in the center of the big circle drawn on the template? Thank you.
@Xploring_The_Outdoors4 жыл бұрын
Hi Thank you for watching. if I remember right the pilot hole isn't in the center of the 4" hole I believe it was toward the top. The reason for that is the shape of the frontiers fender how it rolls over the S pipe has to slide over the top of the piece on the snorkel itself. If you need any help you can message me through my facebook page here facebook.com/Xploringtheoutdoors

Great video Dude. I am going to be attempting this same install on my Frontier today. This was very helpful and motivating. Did you plug the drain in the airbox?
@Xploring_The_Outdoors3 жыл бұрын
Yes but I’ve been thinking about rainwater accumulating in a box so I was thinking about making a rubber drain plug to put in there and it’s easy to pull out
@mikemorgan46703 жыл бұрын
@@Xploring_The_Outdoors Did you also seal the mounting bolt in the bottom of the airbox? Or do you think the rubber washer is sufficient? Thanks for your feedback.

@johnnydeleon77723 жыл бұрын
I see you have had it for a few months, have you put it through some water? As far as it runing in water Is it sealed? Or is it just a temporary thing to keep the water out of the intake? Im used to snorkles on my can am you can literally park a canam underwater with a snorkle obviously not parking a nissan under water but will it go a good length under water and stay sealed?
@Xploring_The_Outdoors3 жыл бұрын
It will as long as you seal it up on installation as I did. However my fuel tank vent, transfer case and other vents haven’t been relocated yet so I haven’t done any street crossing yet.

LOL Thanks at that point I was just praying that hole was in the right spot or at least very close. I still need to get the diff breather kit, I don't plan on driving in deep water but with hurricanes and flooding and that one hole on the trail that you just know isn't more than a couple inches and those turn to feet. better safe than sorry.
