For Melones, there is a very tiny entry point right in front of the parking lot. Snorkel to the right. Tamarindo has a very large sandy entry on the main beach area. Go left to see turtles, go right for the better coral (and nurse shark), we snorkel the entire length of the bay, though much is only grass. That is where the turtles and eagle rays are. For Flamenco,go right a good hike to the remains of an old dock. For Carlos Rosario, there is a very clear sandy entry point.

thank you for editing and posting your favorite snorkeling at Culebra. They are also my favoritos. Especianlly malones y tamarindo. Where do you snorkel at Zony ? It's a windy, wavy, beach. I have never snorkeled there. Missing Culebra. Nice , simple, quiet island. Oh and the rum is extra tasty. :)

Thanks for posting this video. I have never been to Puerto Rico, although I'm dying to go. I'm definitely going snorkeling when I do go. I really enjoyed watching this video. Would have been nice if had put it with soothing music;-)

Thanks a lot for immediate response. I appreciate it. As you suggested we will go out to Tamarindo first. You got us really excited now :)

Yes, you can snorkel right from shore . Generally you are snorkeling between 5-15 feet. You will quickly become comfortable and really enjoy it. I recommend for your first outing you go to Tamarindo. At that beach, on the left (if looking out to sea) in very shalloiw water you will find turtles. Keep going along the shore and you will find corals and tons of fish. The best corals though at that beach are off to the right.

reading down it was someone else who said to snorkel at Zoni, not you trvth1s. How expensive was the camera you used? , and I will bother you no more. I love the blue Tang's, and I have never seen a shark. Glad it was you not I. Thanks again for posting.

Ah, OK. That camera was actually a cheap $60 kodak underwater camera. As for sharks, I have been going to Culebra for 4 years and had never seen one before. This past year I saw two -- one "sleeping" under a rock at Tamarindo, and the one you saw swimming at Flamenco . The Tamarindo shark was there every time we went, always in the same spot. Look under those overhangs!

We are going there this week. And we are not really comfortable in deep waters, but we do want to try snorkeling for the first time. This video looks like you are in waist-deep water. Is that right? and can you really see lotta stuff if you're in waist-deep water? please let us know... thanks!

I don't think of Zoni as a snorkeling beach at all. I have snorkeled there at the end of the beach on the right (when looking out to sea.) Not much there, but I did see a lion fish, which is pretty but is an invastive species that should not be in these waters.
