For those who haven't seen the full episode, it was omitted from the upload but Alex said right before the task introduction that it was intended to be a tiebreaker but was promoted to a main task because the attempts were too funny to leave out. It was since established that it was Fern's attempt that resulted in this becoming a main task, so quite literally a David Baddiel situation.

Greg needs to stop with the Breakdown lie. He has used at at least twice in every series, it got old in 2
