Vinnie puts energy behind the drums like nobody else. You have to notice his unique style and sound with blistering chops!! Always great hearing him play.

Boy could you read !!! There are only a few ( like one hand ) that have maintained the energy to even shift into 2nd in your lane.First what an honor to get all this special Music to enjoy. What’s great is that you are mentally functioning after years of Zappa’s Charts. What can’t you do? I would never waste my time comparing you to another there is no other!! Thanks for decades of extremely hard work we are proud!!

I read in an interview with Vinny one time where he said something to the effect that Ringo Starr's playing on "Martha My Dear'" was one of his favorite tracks of all time. Not because it had anything flashy to say, but it because it was so beautifully suited to the song and it resonated with him on an emotional level. These KZbin vids are obviously otherworldly, but I've never forgotten Vinny's words and find them to be as inspiring and encouraging as anything else. You really can have your mind blown just as easily by someone who plays for the song. It happens to me on a regular basis.

Seems lke the most genuine and generous person. All the people who came up under Frank seem like the most humble and lovely people musicians out there, they just seem too happy to have survived Franks audition process and then had a huge career with him and just needed to give back to every person around them in their vicinity.

There are guys like Mangini that have "super drumistic" mechanical chops, but no one NO ONE has better musical chops than Vinnie. It's actually impossible to do what Vinnie does and that is; play 100% for the music, make it feel great, make it sound great with a perfect touch for whatever music he's playing, place the beat in exactly the right place for whatever musicians he's playing with, use perfect internal dynamics, always play something interesting but not overplaying! Whether he's playing country with Faith Hill, heavy metal with Megadeth, jazz with Chick Corea, or playing with Zappa he plays it all authentically. HE'S A FREAK!

Vinnie is without doubt one of the greatest drummers alive today, his playing is musical, technicaly amazing and inspirational. However to say no one can touch him is a very bold statement with people like Weckl, Smith and Gadd around. I've seen Vinnie play and had the pleasure and privilege of meeting Dave Weckl and Steve Smith they're all incredible and blow me away every time I see them. Let's be honest, if all of us commenting were anywhere near their standard people would be making videos about us and we would be the ones being commented on.Trying to separate them is a bit like trying to separate Lambourghini from Pagani or Patek Phillipe from Vacheron Constanin. These guys along with others are the best of the best, amazing, inspirational, exemplary and consumate musicians we can learn and be inspired by all of them.

I saw Vinnie with Herbie in San Diego- March 2018. He and Herbie were MONSTERS. I mean Godzilla and Mothra thru Tokyo. In all my years of many forms of music they built up songs to such an intensity and such sustain that some folks were walking out. I have experienced the mental reserves one needs to listen and soak in an hour and a half of Wynton and JLCO- and I am telling you all to look up Vinnie with Herbie.
