Snow and birds 4 - 19 - 18

Hi! Friends! ... The weather people on television tell us it's Spring time. .... But it looks more like winter wonderland than Spring here. It kind of makes a guy feel like singing Frosty The Snowman. Ha! Ha!
..... This is nice wet snow for making snowballs, and snowmen. I think I saw the Robins rolling snowballs. Ha! Ha!
.... Over the past few days it has snowed somewhere around 12 inches. I suppose 12 inches isn't to bad.. Because it broke record snow falls, and snowed as much as 30 inches in some places to the north of here. It is normal for it to snow this time of the year here. But not usually this much.
.. The snow has been on and off for the past week. Many of the birds that have migrated back north, to here are having a difficult time finding food. I have been putting out carrots, and apples for the rabbits, an other critters, and making sure the birds have plenty of food.
The weather is going to warm up fast now. They are saying 60 degrees F. by the weekend. This time of the year the sun is warm, so the snow will melt fast. ... Soon Bear an I can work on our suntan's. Ha! Ha!

Snow is really hard to get rid of ..... I guess that snow like's to stick around to be shoveled.

Hi Stephen! .. Thank you for watching my videos! and thank you for your nice comments! ... Ha! Ha! I think you are right, the snow likes to stick around to be shoveled. Ha! Ha! ....I shoveled some of it, and just left the rest to melt. It has become difficult for me to shovel a lot of snow. I suppose you are use to having some snow around your area too. ... The weather has changed a lot on the past few days. Sure is some crazy fast changing weather! .. It has warmed up fast. It was sunny, and around 60 degrees F. yesterday, and is sunny, and 56 degrees F. already this morning. So the snow has been melting. Now the birds are finding some bare patches of ground to find some freeze dried bugs to eat. I suppose freeze dried bugs are pretty good. Because birds sure have a lot of energy. .... Maybe I should eat some too, and get more energy. Ha! Ha! ... I hope you are doing good and have a great week! Your friends, Mike, Bear, Kitty, an my family.

Hi! Suzi! Happy Spring to you too! ... Thank you for watching my videos! and Thank you for your nice comments! .. I agree, Mother Nature is taking her time this Spring. .. The weather sure changes fast. Over the past few days it has warmed up. Yesterday it was 60 degrees, and this morning it is sunny and 57 degrees already. So the snow has been melting. Hopefully it is done snowing for this year. Buy ya never know. Ha! Ha! ..... Bear an I were just walking in the frozen swamps a little while ago. He seems puzzled to see water flowing where ice use to be. The swamps are starting to thaw, so it won't be long and the frogs will be waking up. rib bit rib bit! LOL! .... The water in the creek is up pretty high from the melting snow. That flows water through the swamps and thaws them quicker. ... Some areas to the north of me got as much as 30 inches. So when there snow melts, the water heads this way down the big rivers and some low areas flood. It's great for making mosquitoes. Ha! Ha! I hope you are doing good, and have a great week! Hi! Hal! .. Thank you for watching my videos! and thank you for your cool comments! .... I agree the snow is really beautiful when it is all fresh, and so white. This was a huge amount of snow for this time of the year. A lot of birds that migrated south for the winter have already come back here to spend the summer. Then when it snow like it did they can't find food. So my bird feeders have been really busy. I have been keeping them full, and also have been cutting up apples, and carrots for the rabbits, and whatever critter is hungry. .. It has been warming up the past few days, so the snow is melting fast now. It was 60 degrees yesterday, and is already 58 degrees, and sunny this morning. ... The snow is great packing snow. That is good, because I have been making snowballs to toss at the Sasquatches to keep them those hairy guys away from the bird feeders. Ha! Ha! Those guys love sunflower seeds and apples too. Ha! Ha! Then they get into my work shop, and leave hair balls all over the place! Ha! Ha! .... I hope you are doing good, and have a great week! Hi! Angeline! .. Thank you for watching my videos! and thank you for your wonderful comments! ... We sure get some fast changing weather here in Spring time. The past few days it has been warming up and melting lots of the snow already. It was 60 degrees F. yesterday and is sunny, and already 58 degrees F. this morning. It's hard to believe it was a snow blizzard a few days ago. I left most of the snow to melt because it is to difficult for me to shovel a lot of it....I have been taking it easy. My heart stuff seems to be doing ok. But I am still feeling quiet. It is frustrating sometimes that things that use to be so easy for me to do aren't so easy to do anymore. .... But I still enjoy complaining about the weather. Ha! Ha! and I enjoy the sunny days! Bear and I were sitting on the front porch steps in the sun this morning. .... Wow! 60 degrees F feels like a heat wave! Ha! Ha! .... I made sure I kept plenty of feed in the bird feeders. Because a lot of the birds that migrated south for the winter have come back already to spend the summer here. And with the deep snow they couldn't find food. Now the snow is melting fast, so the birds eating at the feeders are slowing down. I also have been cutting up some apples, and carrots for the rabbits. They would have found food anyhow. But the rabbits would have snipped off, and eaten my berry bushes. So with me feeding them, the rabbits didn't eat my berry bushes. Then in summer the Robins will have lots of berries to eat. .. This morning Bear and I walked down in the swamps. The swamps are starting to melt. It won't be long and the swamp will come alive. Hopefully the frogs will get busy eating mosquitoes so I don't have to swat as many. Ha! Ha! .. I hope you and your family are all doing good! and having a great week! Hugs, God Bless! i dont mess the snow..i cant stand the coold to be honest..bu many do love winter!! i love office too..:-) it does look pretty over there..thanks for sharing!!!
