This has got to be Toaplans best selling arcade game. Just judging by how many Snow Bros boards there are in the wild still. Either way fantastic game. Played this first in 93 or so when it was already a little older.
@lukemorse12 жыл бұрын
For sure, this one had to have made a bit of money for coin-ops. Cool little bit of history there on your first time playing and nice that you could get in on it even within the first few years of release

What I've heard of Snow Bros. is that Korea REALLY loved Snow Bros, or at least copying it. There were apparently a lot of clone games over there, and I've heard Snow Bros. 2 (With New (horrifying) Elves) was a clone that somehow got Toaplan's endorsement as an official game (though that might have been as the original company was dying and the employees broke off to form multiple other companies).

Wow, very interesting stuff. That isnt too surprising to think of but very cool information there.

I like it when he jumps he does a flip.

The neat tricks of the game. When he becomes inflated and floats around the screen, that cracks me up. Thanks for watching!

My fav game. 😍 super hard without free play. Lol thanks for sharing. I reserved the recent switch releases, can't wait to try that version.
@lukemorse12 жыл бұрын
I definitely need some practice on this game but as mentioned above, it seems there are some good ways to clear the game if you know the tricks lol. Yeah, the switch version should hopefully be good. Thanks Jeff!

This and the game you would shoot up wires to pop bouncing balls, always used to get a quarter out of me whenever I would stumble across them in the back of an arcade.
@lukemorse12 жыл бұрын
Ahh, you mean Pang or Super Pang! those ones are balls difficult lol. I totally understand what you mean though.

Thanks as always. I dont have any boards right now that I am working on but that may change in the future. Probably just going to be playing a few of these boards and making videos on them :😄

Snow Bros 👍 Classic game Luke, still looks great and super fast 🤠. Mad Little Pixel would be living the dream with that PCB. Take it easy buddy 👍

A pizza place where I used to live had a Snow Brows Arcade game and a neogeo MVS.

Wow, sounds like a really awesome place. The pizza place with arcade games is such nostalgia!

I picked up the remaster for the Switch recently, really nice version. Its a shame they didn't include the arcade original.

Oh wow, cool to know! That is a shame they didnt include the original though. Thanks for the info!

"Superguns" as they are called are quite valuable nowadays. It's often much cheaper to build one yourself than to buy one.

Jake man, Im sure you can find one of these but the importing of it would be a pain. Thanks as always man!!
@Slayerthecrow2 жыл бұрын
You can finish the first 30 levels really easy because you have like 10 seconds of invincibility, if you know the level layout you can get bonus in the first 20 levels.
@lukemorse12 жыл бұрын
Nice. Knowing the tricks of these games and the best ways to play them is key for sure. Thanks for watching
@Slayerthecrow2 жыл бұрын
@@lukemorse1 I can do the 1-Coin challenge in that game but the tricky part begins in level 30, enemies get more aggressive, getting bonus is nearly impossible by that point onward, introduces enemies that can become tornados a float during the stage and are invincible in that mode, and level 40 has levels with dead spots, basically becomes a race to clean the stage as fast as possible, final boss is tricky but if you focus in one part it becomes fairly easy.

Somehow up until now only heard them getting mentioned, not the actual company name printed anywhere. And I thought it was written "Toadplan". :)
@lukemorse12 жыл бұрын
Lol, Ive heard people call it "TOPELAN" before so that happens from time to time. Toaplan was really well known for its shooting games and has made a ton of classics.

Unfortunate that this didn't get an SFC/SNES release.
@lukemorse12 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it did get an NES release and a Mega Drive release but yeah, hopefully the switch version will be good.
@spartonberry2 жыл бұрын
I got the original Game Boy port. It was the only cheap port of the game at the time I picked up many years ago (though the NES version surely cost almost nothing compared to what I imagine it sells for now).
@spartonberry2 жыл бұрын
@@lukemorse1 There was a brief time when buying the Japanese (or was it "Asian") version of the Mega Drive Mini would probably have been the cheapest way to get that port legitimately. Too bad it wasn't included in the American/European version (which I heard are identical aside from branding differences).

I've never been the biggest fan of these style of game, as the music always gets annoyingly stuck in my head, and I end up humming it for days afterwards annoying my better 1/2 😅 but as always great video👍🏻
@lukemorse12 жыл бұрын
LOL, I know the feeling about getting the music stuck in your head and cant get it out so I hear you on that one. Thanks as always for checking it out though 😆

I was just curious why you don't hook up your supergun to a CRT TV/Monitor? Just more convenient this way?
@lukemorse12 жыл бұрын
I would honestly love to have a CRT just set up for my arcade boards but due to the size of them in depth, I just dont have the space to put one on the pc desk. Having this flat screen monitor is definitely more convenient but nothing beats a good CRT for sure.
@jameskenney56232 жыл бұрын
Maybe I missed it but this is very bubble bobble-esque
@lukemorse12 жыл бұрын
It is indeed. There are a lot of overlap with some of these games, bubble bobble, snow bros, nightmare in the dark etc. They have the same vibe.

Never the Combo A.V...
@lukemorse12 жыл бұрын
Lol, yeah, as of right now, the AV combo is put up in the loft and I generally dont switch them out like I used to. This is kind of in a "fixed" position. I still do have the AV combo and the Panacustom though.
