I’m just happy to finally learn that baking soda cures super glue instantly, had no idea. (Tip from the post apocalyptic video) Excellent work!
@WhattoRepair2 жыл бұрын
Yes, but glue must be liquid. It doesn't work with gel type super glue and other thick glue, because baking soda cures on surface before it gets into glue.

How long did it take to make this beautiful masterpiece
@WhattoRepair2 жыл бұрын
I estimate around 12 hours of work on diorama, 2 hours of taking pictures with cars and 8 hours of video editing. All together 20 hours. All that is done during one week period. I don't calculate time of making plans and watching videos on KZbin to get final idea how to do all this, because I get ideas from various videos watched almost every day. Sometimes I write notes or make screenshots of details so I not forget on them.

cool and amazing! What do you scatter on top of the trees at 18:45?
@WhattoRepair Жыл бұрын
This is baking soda. First I put some PVA glue on branches with brush and after that I scatter baking soda on glue through strainer because my soda had some small clumps inside. In fact, I put on branches PVA glue already mixed with baking soda, but still I need to scatter some soda on that glue to eliminate gloss.

Hi, what is the board you started with? What is the white powder?
@WhattoRepair2 жыл бұрын
Hi, do you ask for board in the beginning of the video or board that I use as base for diorama? In the beginning of video I use solid 2 mm thick carton board for cabin walls. Base for diorama is extruded polystyrene foam board, or XPS foam board. White powder is baking soda.

I enjoyed these videos I've been wanting very much to try to make a cabin myself. Could you share what type of board that was that you used as well as what type of glue? Thank you!
@WhattoRepair10 ай бұрын
I'm not sure on which board do you think? I was using 2 mm cardboard for walls and balsa wood board for roof. I was using regular generic brand liquid CA (Cyanoacrylate) super glue for making cabin. Base board is XPS insulation board. Glue for snow is PVA glue or regular water based wood glue.

Look perfect brother, very inspiring to make like that...can you tell me the size of cabin?
@WhattoRepair2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I totally forgot to mention dimensions in video. Base is 70x110 mm. Height of front and back wall is 45 mm and height to the top of the roof is 75 mm. Those were dimensions before making a roof and gluing wood sticks to the walls. Sticks and roof added little more milimeters to dimensions but this is not so important.

What are the little round sticks you use for the siding? And whats the wood board called you uses for roof and chimney
@WhattoRepair2 жыл бұрын
Round sticks are barbecue skewers, you can see on the packaging. You use that sticks for baking meat or vegetables on barbecue. Wood board is balsa wood. Balsa is widely used in modeling. For that use balsa can be replaced with cardboard.
