Family Adventures on Trikes

Family Adventures on Trikes

The first snow is finally here! We used the opportunity to try out our Steintrikes Wild Ones in the snow, and have fun sledging with the kids! Snow cycling is not always easy, especially on a standard upright bike, so we again appreciated the stability that trikes give!
In this recumbent trike vlog, we take you to Dunavac (a Danube arm in Novi Sad, sometimes also called Šodroš) on our Steintrikes Wild One trikes and we change our usual Croozer Kid for 2 trailer for a sledge for the kids. Often we don't have to go far to have a great family adventure!
Location: Novi Sad
Filmed: January 2021
Trikes: Steintrikes Wild One x2

Trailer: Wooden sledge :)

I am thoroughly enjoying your trike videos. It’s clear that you love triking, and you bring your kids - very cool. Your videos give me the sense of being on a trike and a sense of your country, the scenery and weather, history and culture, and of your personalities. Also they always bring me smiles. Well done. All I knew of Serbia was news stories of violence and conflict, of NATO bombings in the 90s. Thanks to your lovely trike trip videos I now know there is much more to your country than the headlines told, for I have now seen friendly people in a beautiful country which has good roads and trails for cycling. Thank you.

Thank you very much! It is true, many people know our country only from the news from the 90s, and even if over 20 years have passed since then, we still sometimes get questions if we have a normal situation here 😀 I'm really glad you like our videos, we like to share our experiences and hopefully promote this lifestyle as a healthier and more fun way of living, and traveling, especially in a world full of cars that we have today.

I didn't think you all could do it with skinny tires, but the extra weight over the back wheel and the "chains" turned the tide. Well done.

Your trike riding adventures are always a lot of fun to watch, and as usual, you all looked like you were having a great time! You are hardy souls, indeed, to ride when it's that cold. I would be putting my trike on the roller device in the warm house. I am sure your children, when they are old, will have big smiles on their faces when they remember those days when they were little and their wonderful parents took them out for all those beautiful rides and so much fun! Stay safe and thank you again for sharing.

Thank you! You noticed well, we are a bilingual Serbian - Hungarian family, and we also speak some French sometimes (we lived in France for a year). 😂 The kids don't learn English yet, but we like to have this multicultural feeling in the family and hopefully, it will be normal for them to learn more languages as they grow. You should definitely try with the cargo if you have the opportunity, I imagine it would be fun! Üdv!

I so enjoy each and every one of your videos. Somehow I miss this one. This is my favorite video you've made so far. It looked like you and your family were just having so much fun. I wish my children were still small. Well at least sometimes I wish not always. It's great that they're growing up and have their own children. I've only been riding a trike since March but have been following you and your family for quite some time. Thanks for taking the time and sharing you bring a smile to me every time. I hope the new baby that you let us know is on the way we'll be part of your films in the future. Can always use another movie star. Hopefully in a month or two I'll have a camera and can maybe share some beautiful videos also. If you have a recommendation of cameras I would love to have you share it so I would know how to get started. Thanks again much love and thoughts towards you and your family. My wife's from donets in eastern Ukraine. And so many of the places and things I see in your video bring back special fun memories. Once again thanks have a wonderful day and I'm going to go back and watch this one more time it's a great video. Bye-bye for now Wendell

Nice to see you all have so much fun in the snow. It gave me a BIG smile on the end of this day. This video reminds me of that time that I went for a ride in the snow on my trike. It is indeed a lot of fun, and you can't fall off the bike. You also can make a nice 90 degree turn just by using the brake on the back wheel ;-) (like using the handbrake on a car) I also remember when I was young and went to school on my normal bike, one day in winter my father put bikechains on the tires. It had incredible grip on an icy road, but not so much fun in the snow because all the snow got stuck in the chain. Nice use of the trapeze ! So thanks for the video, thumbs up (I have already subscribed and hit the notification bell) and I'll see you in the next video.

Thank you very much for your comment! That is exactly what we are aiming for - to give people some smiles! 😊 If we'll have more snow this year, we might try the handbrake thing - although without the kids probably! 😄

That looks great fun . The Kids looked like they were having a great time, but I would have liked to see bike helmets for all. It must be nice to have the opportunity to ride in snow and not have cars to worry about. Keep enjoying your Trikes. Stay safe 👍😀❄️❄️

Thank you for your comment! It's true, bike helmets are not that common around here, we usually use them only when going out of town. However, we almost always put them on for the kids - but this time it was not possible to put them over their winter hats 😄

Thank you for your suggestions! As you can see, we have only the slick tires, but in fact, for most days that is enough for us, the snow is very rare where we are (usually once or twice a year so we were very happy to have the opportunity to test riding in snow 😀)

@bici.family
@bici.family 3 жыл бұрын
@@tidjydu5754 Bonjour !

Put some knobby tires on the rear wheel. Triking on snow is a pain mostly for two reasons 1) high resistance, as you are going through deep snow with three (small) wheels 2) lack of traction on the wheel that suppose to push you forward IDK about your wheelsize, but I have very good experiences with SmartSam from Schwalbe - knobby for digging into the snow but also with full line in the center for good rolling on hard surfaces...

The price of course depends on your budget and what you plan to use them for and what value you see in them. They are more expensive than a normal bike, but it's important to know that there are different options available. I suggest that you have a look at the possibilities in Peru, maybe there are some local trike dealers, because it's not the same everywhere around the globe 😊
