Illinois resident here. Snow always looks more beautiful when it’s somewhere else. And JL is stunning. The only good thing from this extreme cold is that parasites and bugs won’t be as bad now. Prayers for strength during this extreme cold.

I hear the helplessness in your voice seeing the animals so cold. I know that feeling around July 4th and try to do all I can to drown out fireworks but see my animal so distraught. You are doing all you can, praying they get through this with nothing but a memory.

Jami ,my grandmother taught me me how to make steamed Boston brown bread and New England style or Boston baked beans in the bean pot it takes about 4hours but worth it we usually had hot dogs or sausages with the meal. Great memories.

Maybe much needed rain this weekend!! 😮 Everything is parched & e experienced some fires around the county! Thankfully, SD Fire & Cal Fire jumped on them & stopped the forward spread threatening structures!!! Thanks to all our brave firefighters in California!!!

Snow can be beautiful and for some people it can be fun. Jami is definitely a fierce warrior for all her babies! I will admit at my age (74), this weather concerns me. 3 of my grandparents fell, broke a hip and that led to their deaths. (My 4th grandparent passed over 25 yeats before I was born.) We have black ice on the roads and I refuse to attempt to drive. The cold drained my car battery so I could not drive even if I wanted to take that risk. I am thankful for gas heat/stove/water heater, electricity (underground utilities = yay!), no frozen pipes, groceries in the kitchen and a 6 quart crockpot of chicken and vegetable soup. I am ok for at least 2 weeks. I do sympathize with people in normally cold climates and those that work outdoors. Yet another reason i am happy and thankful to be retired. I am also thankful Jami remains cautious around Carl. Jami is as wise as she is gorgeous)

Good afternoon Jami. Jami you are doing your best to cover every angle of this snow, cold temps and how to keep the farm animals well and warm. Give yourself a pat on the back as they are all okay and they are greeting you when you come out. Even Carl even though he is a bit intimidating cause he is not liking you near his pasture. In a few days the temps and snow should all be gone and it will get back a bit more normal. The horses and donkeys are in their blankets and they are dry. Ivy was walking a bit better but you know it could be just temporary which I sure hope not. Sending more healing vibes to our sweet girl. Be proud of yourself you are handling this and afterwards Lester will need to be there and treat you to some good dates, love, and hugs. Take care, stay safe and warm. Hugs.
